Have you ever been the cow's tail?

Vince’s brother stayed with us last night. We always enjoy his company and last night was no exception. He always stays overnight if he comes for dinner. That way, we can all enjoy a wine without him having to worry about driving home. If we visit him in the evening, we stay over too.
They played some music on the autoharp and piano; we all argued about some things (but in a good-natured way) and generally had a very pleasant evening. It’s an easy comfortable relationship and, in the morning, we get up when we feel like it. Today, Vin and I are up and G is going to be the cow’s tail. Have you heard that expression? It just means he is the last to get up.
The photo is mine. That’s my friend sitting on Bimbo, a very obliging calf.

Pretty is the cow's tail... I'm awake early and she sleeps late.
That caused a lot of problems when she was a teenager and I'd make plans for us to go do something. If I woke her up to get around, I could expect a miserable day because she was always grumpy and growly because I woke her up... I stopped making plans for us to do anything until she asked why we didn't go anywhere anymore. I told her I didn't like getting grumped and growled at all day and wasn't doing it anymore. If she wanted to do something, she'd have to get herself up and around in time for us to drive where ever we were going and be pleasant or I'd bring us back home without getting anywhere. She started setting an alarm and getting ready... We had pleasant trips after that.

@Fleura Thanks... She'd spend too much time playing games online during the night and wanted to sleep all day...
I didn't feel like staying home all the time but didn't want to leave her home alone, either.

I had never heard this expression before but I have, in fact, been the cow's tail. Many times to be honest.

It is. I woke up early today and when my wife got up, I called her a cow's tail.
Unfortunately, all she heard was cow.
It was a tense couple of minutes, but I was able to clarify.

This one is pretty logical. The tail would be the last part of the cow to arrive. lol

I've always been curious about the saying ''bee's knees'' because...bees have knees? But it's a cute saying, anyway. And who knows, maybe bees think they do have knees!
