wheeling and dealing

I drove to the next town over to a plant nursery and bought two butterfly bushes. They are pretty small. Much smaller than I thought but hoping they will grow. Today the weather is dishing up Spring. Tomorrow the clouds are supposed to be moving out and hot summer movng in again. It was in the 80s yesterday. This roller coaster weather is not fun. But probably good for the painters as they scrape away at the house.
While I was over in that neighboring town I stopped at a Veterinary clinic. I asked the receptionist whether they are taking new patients that have a prior medical history. Yes they are. Just not now. In about a month. Fine with me. I signed Beau Teak Siamese up for an exam. He needs care. Chronic respiratory and gum issues just not going away. What a total relief for me- this will mean I will NOT be on the mean highway with the mean huge trucks and meaner fast SUVs.
I had Rufus with me so I grabbed his leash and walked him into the clinic. The receptionist was: you don't have an appointment! I said no I don't. I need you to meet Rufus. I wanted and needed to see how the guy would treat Rufus and how Rufus would treat the guy. Everything went fine. It just took a minute for me to know that this clinic was going to be a good choice for my fur kids.
Tomorrow my garden buddy will be back to snag some more money from me. She will have a wisteria and another butterfly bush, too. I'm ready for more gardening adventures. And relieved about Beau Teak.

@Ineeddentures I used Rufus as a guinea pig: if the Vet staff was decent to him then maybe they would be decent to Beau.

I'm glad you won't need to be one the freeway to get to the new vet and hope he can do something for Beau Teak.
My first wife and I had butterfly bushes at the house we had built... They were very pretty and grew fast. I'm sure yours will, too.

Glad you found a vet closer to home. I have 2 different ones I use. The farthest one is still only about a 30 minute drive so not bad. Often they are coming to me instead anyways as they are the livestock vet and my emergency vet

When my two kitties had gum and teeth issues I ended up making their food myself. I also gave them plain home made yogurt. Whenever I switched them back to commercial soft food they got more infections and lost teeth. Vet approved of what I was doing for the guys and I feel like they lived longer because of it. I hope Beau Teek gets the help he needs.
