Cars for kids

In the Chittering Museum, we saw these model cars that someone had made. All they need to make them go is a battery. Pedal cars are probably more common but imagine how kids would enjoy driving these around. The metalwork is very professionally done. You can gauge the size from the rather large teddy bears that are reclining in the seats. Whoever made these would have been a very popular granddad. I didn’t get a decent photo of the car on the left of the lower photo but it was a very authentic-looking army jeep.

Wow, they all look amazing. Can you imagine if you saw a load of children driving these into the school playground each morning.

@LadyDuck When you think you want to get into a space, you need to remember that you need to be able to get out of it too!! lol

Very cool cars and yes we would have been racing them. Back when I drove I was considered a very fast driver and the number of speeding tickets wasn't good. My mother would have wanted to drive one also and I very likely would have had second place.

Yes, they're very cool indeed. You'd be the envy of everyone in the neighbourhood if you had one of these as a kid.

@JudyEv Looks like someone had a lot of time to spare and used that time to create these that are only show pieces.

It's probably illegal to have battery-driven cars on the open market. You'd need lots of regulations.

Kids certainly would be in their glory driving those cars around. My neighbors kids had battery operated cars that they would ride along the sidewalks but they were nothing near as authentic as those in your picture.

It's lucky that adults can't fit in them or they'd be charging off all over the place.
