I Can't Believe I Used To Love The Hot Weather

Happy Friday Everyone! it's a bit overcast this morning and the heat continues. Can't really complain since it's July and that's pretty much what July does
Thankfully some of the really bad storms bypassed us the last few days.
With the weather being so hot and miserable I haven't been able to enjoy sitting outside for my morning coffee. Even the dog misses our outside time in the morning. She'll sit by the sliding doors and look at me like "hey lets go outside" and I have to tell her it's too hot and the deck will burn her paws.
Back in the "good old days" (my high school years) my cousin and I would hop on the bus and go to the beach. We'd spread out our towels, soak in the sun, swim and flirt with the lifeguards.
If I wasn't at the beach I would be in our backyard in the hammock reading.
99% of my summer time was spent outside.
Even as a family we would eat dinner outside at a picnic bench my grandfather built.
Guess we were more used to the warm weather since we didn't have air conditioning.
Now I don't know how I would exist if I didn't have a/c.
So, today I'm having my coffee inside and will be reading my book in the comfort of my recliner

Growing up on the farm, we only had fans and spent most of our time outside, too. As I got older, I still spent a lot of time outside riding bikes, horses or, once in a while, one of the cows in the pasture.
In my late 30s, I started having trouble with the heat and would sweat all the time, even when other people were comfortable at the same temp... In my 50s, we found out I had Graves' Disease and started taking medication to slow my thyroid down... I can be out in the heat again now but don't because I burn in the sun after 15 minutes and don't like that, either.
I hope you're enjoying your day inside.

@Marilynda1225 Yes and my right eye won't open and is weeping... Unfortunately, that is normal more often than not.

Guess we all had more tolerance for the heat when we were younger.
How are your eyes doing today? Still all swollen?

@Marilynda1225 My Dad loved the mountains, he has fair skin (same as I do) we disliked to get sunburns all the time.

I agree with you about the heat. We used to bake in the sun. Now I stay out of the sun because too much isn't good for you; and it's TOO HOT!

I sat on near 90F heat today
All day
I look very tanned now
Yay for me
A delivery bloke walked up the garden path today
He was from Nigeria, he lives around the corner
He was looking for a girl next door called Jade
I told him there was a guy called jade next door.
As he was leaving he said my tan was coming on
I told him I was trying to get one like him
He laughed, and said nice one Bimbo
I said nice one back

It's starting to bother me, too, or at least making me lazy so that I don't want to do anything. I really should get out there and pull some weeds, water the wanted plants, but I don't really want to do anything, not even get dressed. I may be depressed. Hey! that rhymes.

It was nice in the summer in the old days. However, I don't know if it was ever nice down here.

I grew up without a/c. Our house never had it or ceiling fans either. I didn't have a/c until my mid 20's. Now I can't live without it.
