Two doctors this week

Wednesday I saw my new cardiologist. He seemed surprised to see me, but he had not gotten my history from the other cardiologist or my primary yet. I do not have any concerning symptoms and he listened to my heart, etc. and says I sound fine. My blood pressure was a little high, but I think the young man that took my vitals was a little inexperienced. Today, Friday, I saw my primary. She says sometimes when we have a bunch of blood tests for one reason or another we get readings that look alarming but really are not. She says that in general my numbers would have to be twice as high for them to be concerning. I do not have any symptoms other than that isolated lab of pancreatitis, or gall stones. We talked, she listened to my abdomen, and we had the same lab drawn for good measure. Her office will get back to me when the results come back. I feel good except for the heat, what else is new?

You are being proactive about your health and that's a good thing. Hopefully, the test results will show nothing alarming and all will be well. The heat...maybe storms coming, but we could use the rain here. Son not having the best day, but it's been worse so I am not complaining. I had some time away yesterday to visit with @FourWalls and have lunch, and an Aldi run for some needed items. And last weekend my daughter had us over for a cookout--just me, her brother, and her husband and her, but we had a nice quiet family time. We like to go there, they have a lovely yard and a lot of flowers and a garden, and a shaded place to sit out and enjoy the wildlife. Son loves her dog, so that's a big plus, too. I was just glad he had a good day and we got to spend time there. I am really tired of this hot, humid weather!

For some reason I am not getting to sit out this year as I have in the past. I actually have more flowers than I have in the past. I think we have had rain at very inconvenient times, but it is about time for us to have more, I think. I am glad you had time with @FourWalls and also a good time last weekend.

@GardenGerty Maybe you can find some time this weekend to sit outside and enjoy your flowers. I hope so. I had a great time yesterday and at my daughter's home. Son doesn't get to go many places due to his health, and I was glad he went along, he loves to visit his sister. She is probably going to come here for a bit on Sunday, too.

I'm glad your doctor is double-checking the other labs... I hope your GP is correct and the last labs were a fluke and you're fine. I am finally changing Endocrinologists after disliking the one I have for five years... He doesn't seem like he knows very much and I'm tired of him insisting there is nothing wrong with my eyes. My eye specialist says the guy is inexperienced and doesn't know what he's talking about... I'll see the new endocrinologist in November. (I can't dislike him as much as I dislike the guy I've been seeing.)

Yes, I was glad to see the other cardiologist. I am not sure if it is the office or the doctor, or the entire practice of the old one that messed things up all of the time. My primary feels a lot like a friend as much as a doctor, and she really knows her stuff. When we first moved here she really went to bat to find out what was wrong with Bob.

Pancratitis can be serious. I hope yours is not.

I do not have any symptoms other than this high enzyme value. From what I read it can indicate pancreas problems, or stomach problems or even salivary glad problems. I have had the salivary problems two years ago I think. The statins I took can cause this problem, also.

They did. They were really on the ball. I got them drawn and the results were back before four this afternoon.

I mostly just see her when something unusual comes up, and then for regular check ups. We would not have had any knowledge of this elevated enzyme if I had not tried to participate in a clinical trial.

Of she isn't concerned about your numbers that's a good thing Hope the results come back ok Heather

She says I would definitely know from the pain if I had pancreatitis or gall bladder problems. I actually feel better this week than I have in ages.

I hope your blood tests show nothing alarming and you can go on your merry way without any alarming concerns. The heat is horrible here also. Staying inside today and getting ready for Market Day tomorrow.

I need to work outside in the mornings, but I seem to always have someplace to go. I had heat exhaustion in 2022 and my doctor says once you have done that it is hard to handle the heat going forward.

I’m glad things are looking better after having talked to the doctor. But it sure would have been nice if your information had gotten to the new cardiologist!

He ( Dr. A) had not requested it yet from Dr. B.the other cardiologist.Even if he had I bet he would not have gotten them. Since the referral came directly from my primary he thought I was having some symptoms that needed fast attention. He could see my most recent visits with my primary, but the whole reason they have me seeing a cardiologist is because I paid out of pocket for a special calcium tracking diagnostic test about two and a half years ago, and it said I have some calcium build up. He has not seen that. I have passed my stress test and ekg's with flying colors and a sonogram too. My LDL is higher than it should be, and I cannot take the medicines everyone thinks should be good for my heart. They are bad for the rest of my body.

My primary care is a lot of fun and she keeps telling me that I am not a bit old. I actually enjoy visiting with her. She thinks I am pretty smart.
