Oh, that ONE single fly!

We've all heard the saying ''the fly on the wall'' which means listening or observing someone without being noticed. But this is not what I mean, even though the fly IS actually on the wall some of the time--it's a real fly. For the record, I hate flies with a passion. I don't want them in my home at all. They are gross and filthy little creatures, they eat anything and everything, and of course (sorry) they swarm animal/creature/pet poop and eat it. The idea of something doing this and then making its way into my home uninvited is not something I can handle. If a fly comes in here, it's going to die--just as soon as I can swat it, it's gone. We had a fly get in last night. It didn't live long and it was dead and in the trash. We have had another fly get in today, and this is the fastest fly I have ever seen! It's like it's on speed or something...I see it, chase it, and it's gone--I can't find it anywhere. I have chased it off and on for several hours and it eludes me every time. There is no trash lying around, no animal feces outside or inside, nothing I can see that attracts flies. It's like this every July. It's hot outside, I guess they want inside to cool off? How daring! Did you know that flies carry more diseases and germs than cockroaches? Yep. He/she is an uninvited guest. He will die tonight before I go to sleep.

I hate flies with a passion too! You didn’t mention that they also vomit over their food before eating it. Just to add even more grossness to the list. I may hate flies, but I love the movie remake of The Fly, starring Jeff Goldblum. Have you watched it?

Yes, I did know about the vomit thing. Like you said, it just makes it even more disgusting. No, I haven’t seen that movie. I am bad about not keeping up with movies.

As soon as I wrote this post, the fly disappeared. Son hasn't seen it either. But we are watching for it to reappear, and I know that if it's still alive and we try to sleep, it will be buzzing around. That's how it works.

@MarieCoyle It is easier to fight it compare to flies. Flies drive me nuts.

I am not the squeamish type of person, but I would really lose it if a roach ever came inside my house. Heck, I would probably have to move out!

I just can’t stand them. If they come into my house, they will not survive here.

I can sense your passion. You're right. they're dirty. I hate them too. I have a handy sprayer on top of my ref, so I can grab it anytime I see one.

We had a really disgusting experience with flies which I won't relate here. Let's just say I agree.

Ugh, I absolutely detest flies. Just the thought of their little stinky feet—fresh from walking on poop—then landing right on your food? Disgusting! It’s not just gross; it’s dangerous. Imagine the diseases you could catch from that! Sometimes I find myself wondering what flies are even good for. I mean, sure—I get it. Everything has a role in the ecosystem. Nature works in balance, and all that. But flies? They just feel like pure inconvenience wrapped in wings. Throw in cockroaches and mosquitoes while we’re at it—the holy trinity of household horror. No one invited them, yet they show up unbothered, spreading germs, biting skin, and acting like they pay rent. Seriously, if there’s a group chat for nature’s most annoying creatures, those three are definitely the admins.
