Had some walloping storms last night. The kind where the thunder and lightning seem to crack right over your house. Very loud, and somewhat disturbing. It cooled us down some however, Thursday is supposed to be up to 93 yuk, and double yuk, there was an event I was thinking of going to, but not with that weather as it is outside. I am not interested in doing much outside if it gets past 90 degrees, because most often there is humidity involved as well. Will you do things when it is hot outside?

When it gets that hot and humid I'm an inside a/c kind of person. We had those storms around dinner time and into the later part of the evening. The power even flickered on and off a few times.

Yes, we have been very lucky with no power outages this year. I hope it continues. However, we tend to get hit with hurricanes in August thru Nov. so the challenging part may be yet to come.

@Marilynda1225 No, they generally start appearing later in the summer..closing in on fall..and often through the fall. Hurricane Isabel which was hugely destructive in VA coastal areas was in September and Hurricane Sandy which didn't affect us much here, but devastated the Jersey shoreline was in Nov. I think.

@snowy22315 so far I haven't heard of many hurricanes but I do agree that Aug-Nov can be active. Hopefully it will be a quiet season and we won't get hit.

We haven’t had any crazy storms for several months, which is rather unusual. I thought of this the other night when we were supposed to get some rain and it went around us again. I’m glad the storm didn’t knock out your power. I don’t like it when that happens!

Who would? You just never know when they will pop up their annoying little heads.

@MarieCoyle They go around us plenty of times but last night we really got bashed. We just got another one. I guess it's moving out now though.

@snowy22315 It seems they either go around us, or beat us up and cause outages and tear things up.

You know I can’t do heat, unfortunately. I stay inside. I’ve made an effort several times over the decades to attend things in the heat and humidity, but inevitably someone asks what’s wrong or tells me I need to go inside somewhere.

I don't enjoy being outside when it is like that. Friend and I went to Cancun once in September and I would have loved to explore the pyramid temples there. It was about 100 degrees and humid..I was so uncomfortable I just sat on a rock the whole time. He was a bit more adventurous and actually walked up the stairs and through one carrying a bag of heavy cameras. Not for me!

When it is too hot, I try to do things in the morning, when the temperature is still cool.

If the RealFeel goes over 90F, I stay in the house where it's comfortable. We had small storms and rain most of the night. Right now it is 84F with a RealFeel of 95F and 67% humidity.

I think it is about 86 here. It is probably the coolest day all week.

@snowy22315 Yesterday was the coolest day here at 82F but with all the rain, it never went above 79F. I will not enjoy getting out Thursday. It's supposed to be 91F but I have to get something done with my right eye. We'll call my brother to see if he can take me to the doctor. I can't see well enough to drive. I've made the appointment for 10:40 am so, hopefully, it will still be relatively cooler then.

I hate hot and humid weather. I feel sick when itngets hot. I would prefer to stay indoors in such weather. Stay cool and well hydrated.

Just now
I stay inside in the AC. There are some storms to the west. I hope we get some of that rain because the grass is crunchy.

I do not do anything outside over 80F degrees. The heat makes me sick.

I don't feel right when it is too humid out, especially if combined with a high temp.
