Hello everyone. I hope your day has been going well. It is 80 degrees F and the sun is setting here at the Jersey Shore. Ugh the days are getting shorter again. Today was a quiet day for the most part. I was up stupid early, then I went back to bed, then someone came to do my hair, and then I went back to bed. My sleep schedule is so messed up. I liked the girl who came here to do my hair. She was funny and my cat Charlie loved her. (he loves everyone) Claire was watching everything but she doesn't let most people touch her. Adso of course stayed hidden because he is a scaredy cat. She did a good job on my hair. The highlights aren't as light as I was hoping for but she said that they would lighten up in the sun. She's right. Last year I wound up practically blonde after all of my time at the pool. She also was able to put tinsel in so I'm sparkly again. The price was rough but worth it considering I didn't have to go sit in a salon for hours. I'm not hungry yet but eventually I will get going on dinner. I have ground beef to use. I'm going to try a new vegetable-filled recipe for meatloaf. I saw it on Food Network the other day. We shall see. What's everyone else up to tonight?

I am working on competing surveys and sharing news stories under a sunny day with small amounts of rain.

I’d love to put tinsel in my hair; maybe some day. I’m not really doing much. Today was a bit more busy than I anticipated, so now I’m just watching Sadie go nuts on a dental bone, and about to turn it to the baseball All Star game. Get some sleep tonight, girl. That’s an order!

Tinsel is cheap on Amazon. It is just a challenge to find someone who knows how to put it in. I'm glad to have my sparkles again. Sparkles and a tan make me happy. (when did I get so vain?)

It is 9:40 pm and I'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner tonight. It is 80F now and that's the RealFeel this evening, too. (Our high today reached 85F with a RealFeel of 110F with 100% humidity. Needless to say, I stayed in the A/C.) I did several exercises for my sciatica and that proved a mistake. Either I did something wrong or I did too much because I couldn't walk without severe pain this afternoon. I'll be more careful next time. I called my GP this morning but they can't squeeze me in until Thursday to look at my right eye. It doesn't hurt but it's still swollen and the lid barely opens. My vision is blurry so I can't drive to her office. Hopefully, the sciatica calms down before I have to walk the quarter mile to the doctor's office Thursday. I got the last of the paperwork for the taxes so I can get the car inspected as soon as I can see well enough to drive to the garage and the license bureau. Pretty contacted the only other pharmacy in our little city and they will deliver our meds. I've been out of some meds for two weeks while my eye was swollen shut. They don't charge for the delivery, which was a nice surprise. (We've always used the Walmart pharmacy because we could get groceries when we pick up our meds. I hope this works out better.) We always have food but if I can't get my meds, I start having problems. It has been a very full day for us. I hope you're having a wonderful evening/night.

That's great that you were happy with the hair-dresser.

I'm glad you're happy with your hair. As I mentioned (did I?) I will be setting up the equipment for the new medical alert pendant. This one has a base unit and will be a new experience for me.

It's been horribly hot outside, and guess what the son wanted for dinner? Chili. Mom's chili, and a grilled cheese sandwich. Most people think of chili for cold weather, but not the son...he loves it so I made a smallish pot of it. I made an apple/grape salad as well, and this morning I made blueberry muffins with some of the tiny blueberries I need to use up out of my freezer. He loves fruit so all of that was a win!
