A chance remark made my night

Amber (@AmbiePam) put up a photo of her 80-year-old aunt Lana who looks incredible for her age. It reminded me of what happened on Monday night when we went to listen to a sea shanty group at a pub. Vince, his brother and I were there.
It was quite crowded and we ended up sitting in a booth opposite three strangers, who were very pleasant. There was a husband, wife and their son who was the designated driver. The husband sang a couple of shanties and had a good voice.
At one point, I was chatting with the wife and she asked which of the two men was my father. I didn’t laugh then but I thought it was hilarious and couldn’t wait to tell my ‘fathers’ on the way home. I am actually older than both of them but obviously I don’t look it.

@JudyEv I think many of us go through this experience at some point in our life.

That's hilarious and a huge compliment.
I trust you rubbed their noses in it.
For the next several days

Ha, Ha...someone once thought friend was my father. He is 10 years older than I am, but he would have been awfully young to be a father..although stranger things may have happened!

With all the couples in the village, a lot of the wives look much younger.

This group is really good and they have a great guy singing bass. You can just about feel the reverb when he hits a really low note.

I spun them along for a while on the way home, saying I heard something that was really going to wreck their evening. They thought it was hilarious. As we got older, 'age' seemed to change. 'Old' are people older than us, and anyone under about 40 is seen as 'young'. Of course, we're only k idding ourselves but there you go. I remember vividly the first time a 'young' person stood up and offered me her seat on a bus.

That's a huge compliment. I think the "Fathers" also had a good laugh.
