Road Hazard

So, on the way back from my city adventures I saw a medium sized tree broken across the road. Nobody was going anywhere until that thing was moved. I saw a lady in the front get out, and then a guy and his kid in the mini van behind hers. I don't know what the woman was doing, but I guess helping in some way, the guy did the majority of the work. If they hadn't gotten out I was prepared to get out and lend a hand. I am not that strong, but I am sure I could have assisted in some way. Anyway, the tree was sucessfully moved and we were on our way. I yelled Thanks to the guy, but I don't think he heard me. Did you ever run across an non animal road hazard that had to be moved?

It isn't super common for that to happen, but there are a lot of trees around here.

Nope. Things like that are normally cleared up before I get to a scene like that. I'm glad they were able to clear the tree off the road and traffic could go on, though.

Yes, it would have been a pain to turn around it would have taken us way out of the way.

Yes, rocks, it took a while before we could move on.

That reminds me of when I was 7, I put large rocks on the road so that cars had to weave around them. I hid in a depression and watched. One lady saw me and asked if I had done it. I said no, of course. When my dad came home from work he moved them all. For some reason, I didn't get in trouble.

@snowy22315 I am sure you had fun. The rocks on the road had fallen from the mountain, I know we were lucky to come soon after they fell and not "while" they were falling.

During a natural calamity in our place. Topple trees obstruct the road. Able-bodied men worked together to remove the obstructiom.

I was driving once and came upon a utility pole in the road, and all the wires attached to it were strewn all over. Yes, I stopped, I was not going to risk possibly running over a live wire. I put on my flashers and pulled off and called, police came very quickly as did fire department, etc. They found a big Ford pick-up truck that had gone off the road into the woods, and knocked it over. There was a guy in the truck, he was not hurt but had been drinking heavily. He didn't have a reason for hitting the pole, he said he was ''tired''...

When former roomie was driving to his mother's one time..There was line of some sort down on the road. He didn't want to go over it, but several other cars drove over it so he took a chance. Nothing happened fortunately.

@snowy22315 My Dad always told me to never, ever drive over a downed line of any kind, so that stuck in my head and I didn't do it.

A non animal road hazard which had to be moved Well a caravan came off its tow bar on a jeep and blocked the road. I didn't help move it There was a massive line of traffic. I just drove up the edge of the road and waved goodbye to it as I went past

All the road hazards for me have been animals. The easiest were rabbits but once a turkey mom witth her flock was crossing the highway. And they were taking their time.

Fortunately, I have not tried it. Although I experienced a terrible landslide that blocked the main highway. Luckily, no one got hurt at that time.

I have stopped and moved bigger limbs. Seen a tree blocking the road once. You were not going to move it be hand. The property owners were already getting the tractor and chainsaw

This one was not huge. It was small enough a couple people could move it. Plus not the entire tree was on the road fortunately.

Very occasionally we've had to move an obstacle but once we were on a back road with a caravan and had to call the authorities to get us out.

When I was very young we went to a wedding on the west side of Cleveland. It was a very hot night; and there was a ton of lightning to watch. On the way home there was a tornado. The car was being blown about so we must have been in the outer edges of it. When the torrential rain stopped we tried to find a way home; but every street had downed power lines and trees. We got home in the early morning hours. We weren't driving by the way.
