I Thought We Found A Dorm.

Yes, we were happy yesterday that we were able to finalize and discuss the condo unit with the owner in front of my daughter's school. Everything is clear, and we will just message each other about any concerns and issues we find, and then the owner will finalize the contract. We messaged her last night, but up until now, there has been no reply to us. I do not know if we will wait for her or move forward to find a new one. We want this done and over with so we can prepare. We prefer the unit because it is fully furnished, and we will just look for a roommate. But it feels like we are going back to square one, hopefully not.
We are giving the owner the whole day today, and if she still does not message us, then maybe it is time to move forward.
Do you think we are doing the right thing?

Since there are students who are looking for a dorm to stay while studying probably there's already one who closed the deal.

@rakski You may know later when the landlord or landlady will contact you.

If the owner doesn't respond, that's unfortunate. We can only hope that the rainy day is the reason for the delay. Perhaps the documentation simply needs to be adjusted or refined. However, I believe it's wise to continue searching as long as they haven't responded or given you a contract to adhere to.

Yes, if you really like that unit, then give the owner the day to return your text message. After that, start looking again. I'm sure there is something for your daughter there. Have you been checking to see if someone else needs a roommate? That might be a good option, too, if they found something before you did.
I always think you're doing the right thing.

@rakski I'm sorry that one didn't work out. I KNOW you'll find something and you'll love it!

Yes, I think you are doing the right thing. If she still doesn't reply, I think it is better to find another one.
I remember when I stayed in Manila. The first one was a small room that was occupied by 6 students. It was hard to review.... Then I moved to another apartment. It was better and I was able to review well.

I would give it a little while but not too long as you don't want to be without accommodations for your daughter when school starts. Hope you hear soon as that condo sounds perfect.

Definitely move forward just in case. It doesn't hurt to have more options.
