If you haven't been able to tell, I loved that trip to the Wabash and Erie Canal Park last Saturday. Yes, even if I hurt my back climbing a ladder and pulling a rope. Yes, even if I had to drive home in rain. Yes, even if I had to get muscle relaxers. I want MORE!!!! And you know what? A little bit of research shows that there are more to be had!! Canals were built in Ohio and Pennsylvania as well as Indiana. Well...looks like I'm going to have to flip a coin to see where I go after the family appointment is over. It doesn't matter where I go, you'll be invited to come along with me!! The photo is one of the geese along the towpath sticking its tongue out at us.

The canal we have in Singapore are artificial canal. Not much natural canal around.

These are artificial as well. With the rise of the railroad, the canals faded away. Most of them that still exist are either dry or a small portion of what used to be.

Seems like there is a state on the east coast that you need to visit. . .

Fortunately, there aren't any canals that go from Lake Erie to California.

And now you need to take the difficult decision where to go next. Those geese are cute, even if one is sticking its tongue to you.

I know…it’s not like that country song (“Should I Go Home or Should I Go Crazy” ), but with five weeks to play with before my next appointment. We’ll have to see how the family thing works out.

@FourWalls I am sure you will find plenty of things to do during those five weeks.

I don't think the goose liked you taking its photo. You're lucky it didn't attack you.

I didn’t have any food for them, that was the real problem.

I’d love to go west, but I’ll probably stay east this time.

I'm a bit wary of geese but these look nice. My Mum once told me a blow from the wing of a goose can break your arm and I've never forgotten it. lol
