Happy Friday Everyone! the sun is shining and it's going to be VERY hot today and into the weekend. I really enjoyed the few days of decent temperatures but now my a/c is running again. When I took the dog out earlier you can just feel how heavy the humidity is already.
Today is my last day alone and this week went by both fast and slow.
The hardest part of this week was taking care of the dog. She misses her mom and is totally out of her routine. Guess I'm just a poor substitute puppy mom. She'll definitely be happy when her mom gets home sometime tomorrow.
Yesterday I had lunch with my older daughter and since neither of us wanted take-out she suggested we just have tuna sandwiches. I'm always happy with tuna but what surprised me was she asked if I would be insulted if she brought her own bread. Of course I said I wouldn't be and she showed up with two slices of white bread.
I haven't eaten white bread in (I can't remember how long) and we only have some sort of rye or wheat bread here.
It kind of took me by surprise but it also made me wonder...do you eat white bread?

I used to love the dark breads like rye or wheat but I've become rather fond of potato bread the last couple of years for sandwiches, at least. We still buy white hamburger buns and Pretty buys herself white sandwich bread.
Rye and dark wheat bread both sit heavy in my stomach and I don't digest them as well/quickly as potato bread. Maybe that's the reason your daughter wanted white bread for her sandwich?

I like potato bread rolls more so than white buns for burgers, etc.
I didn't ask her why she was eating white bread as I didn't want her to think I was criticizing her and that it was an unhealthy choice. It just surprised me

@Marilynda1225 I LOVE potato rolls but we can't find them very often here. Mostly, there are different types of white bread rolls at the grocery stores now... They used to have different types of rolls when Pretty was little but I haven't seen any in years.
I don't know why Pretty always buys white bread since she will eat my potato bread with some things in a sandwich... She buys chicken patties and uses my bread to make sandwiches with them and used my bread for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, too.

All those breads sound delicious and I guess I was forgetting how many varieties of white breads there are. I was focused on just plain old sliced white bread
How are you Gary? Still traveling?

@Marilynda1225 We eat very little bread now, white bread is only in the morning for breakfast and one slice each.

I grew up eating sliced white bread but as the years have gone on I find myself liking wheat bread so much more.

I eat honey wheat bread. I can't remember the brand, Natures something. I use white bread if we make french toast, otherwise its wheat.

Honey wheat is my favorite and it's usually what I have on hand.
I don't like eggs so I don't eat french toast but i can see that white bread would be the ideal bread for french toast.

I probably haven't had any white bread in the kitchen since 2008 or so.
I am not a bread eater either, but my husband discovered the 14 grain bread back then and that is what I buy for him.
On the very rare occasion, such as Christmas every few years, that I want to make French toast, I will go to the bakery and buy their freshly baked whole wheat bread, it makes for nice French toast.

No, I haven’t ate it in years. My husband didn’t want to give it up until recently. So I was buying it for him. He finally decided that he liked some of the darker breads that my son and I enjoy.

For awhile I stopped eating any kind of bread but now I have a craving to make some sandwiches so I have to wait until I can order my groceries next month and get bread and deli,

We have a bread called 9-grain. We've been having that or multi-grain ever since Vince was diagnosed with Type 2 dementia. The seeds and grains stick in my teeth a bit but I don't eat a lot of bread anyway. I prefer white bread for jam and cream.
