I just made some French toasts and with them came back the movie Kramer vs Kramer. I remembered how the boy helped his father make the French toasts although I never knew if he had not taught them first. That father knew nothing about parenthood although he ended with an A+. TV teaches me recipes often although I know the recipes first. My TV has a show about meats and I watch it often because there is no other thing to watch at that time. I´m not fond of Gordon Ramsay because he hollers louder than me. And last but not least, I watch videos online. Only yesterday I discovered how to make chicken breasts filled with cheese and fried later. Where do you find recipes?

I either think up my own recipes, find them online or someone talks about something that sounds interesting on myLot so I try it and see if I can make it, too. I don't watch cooking shows, I don't enjoy them.

I use my wife's recipe box. It's filled with recipes from my wife, her mother and her mother's mother. There are recipes passed down from over 100 years ago. What isn't in there, I find in the Betty Crocker cookbook. That was published in 1954 and handed down from my wife's mother. I have a dozen or more cookbooks from different eras. I also see things that I like online and search for the recipe. If I like it, I print the recipe on a new index card and put it in the recipe box. I sometimes alter the recipes to either add more of an ingredient that I like or use less or omit things that I don't like. Some things are made up depending on what needs to be eaten. French toast using homemade bread is delicious

Many decades ago, one of my mom´s friend gave me one of her cook books because it was in English and she could not read it. It became my cooking Bible. It is called The Joy of Cooking. I´m sure that you have heard about it. The best sentence in it was when I was looking for an octopus dish and they called it "that hideous creature".

@marguicha I have a copy of that cookbook. Hahah, I don't care much for octopus but I will have to go find that quote in my copy. That's hilarious

I have recipes I like to fix but I also like to try new things. The internet is so full of whatever one can imagine. Sometimes I use a recipe from the internet and change ingredients to make it my own. I find that fun. I enjoy watching the food network during the holidays. They have some good competitions.

I am also not a fan of Gordon Ramsay, he has his own way to make traditional recipes and often I do not like his method. I learnt most of my recipes from my grandmothers and my mother. Some from old cooking books. I wrote them all in my computer and printed and that is now my cooking book.

I don´t cook many different dishes now as I live alone. Many times I have to share the dishes I make with Luna.

When I was a child, I like watching Wok with Yan, it's a cooking show mostly Chinese dishes. I remember Jamie Oliver, I like his show and follow some of his recipes

Since I can no longer cook and bake, I've given up watching cooking shows. They make me sad that I cannot no longer cook.

I change some recipes adding ingredients. I add more crab to the crab pie. I like it to taste like crab instead of bread crumbs.

I would go to the web if I needed a recipe. Vince often gets ideas by searching for meals on YouTube.
