Break the fast

July 28, 2025 7:58am CST
So I had been fasting for about 4 hours And I woke up feeling like a Palestinian in Gaza looking for food Only I knew I was not going to be shot at by the IDF as I ventured out of bed to raid the fridge and cupboards. It was almost noon and the last time I had eaten was 8am , hungry now, energy depleted I must eat Rice Crispies to the rescue, cold milk and sugar Sorted Oh that was good and I made a cup of tea as well to yumminise it even more And I was right. The IDF did not shoot at me because I am not a helpless child , starving and already orphaned.

@Ineeddentures - Do not travel to Gaza, it seems they do not get food often there.

@LadyDuck If I was to travel to Gaza it will be after Palestine is a recognised State. Which will be sooner rather than later I hope

Oh Anna 4 hours is a long time in my life without food. Any longer I would be malnourished and in danger of feeling dizzy

Is that the longest you've ever gone without food?

It's the closest I came to getting shot by the IDF. Nay I jest. I once went 8 hours because I had got very drunk and wasted and slept Usually I can go to sleep drunk and wastes and still get up after 4 hours to eat

@Ineeddentures I'm like you, I have to eat about every 4 hours, except for at night when I'm asleep. But when I'm awake, I'm constantly hungry. And be careful, if you don't get shot by the IDF, they may just indiscriminately bomb your house.

@moffittjc Nah I would be safe enough. They would miss and hit a school with 300 kids in it

Glad to hear that your rice crispies solved your hunger. We do take our access to food and drink for granted.

I do. I watched the News bulletin the other night and saw with my own eyes what happened to people lining up for food at a food aid station in Gaza. And then I listened to the American Special Forces guy confirm what happened. How low can people go to impose their ideology on helpless disenfranchised starving people. If only Americas leader would see it like the rest of the world does , this would stop.

I never feel hungry before 9 p.m., my dinner time. As you know, my dinner is too simple.

@Ineeddentures No, I take only dinner. No breakfast, no lunch. Just a cup of tea in the morning is sufficient for me to work till night.

@Shivram59 In the long term that will not do you any good. We need to eat in the morning to kick start our metabolism every day

Do you not eat breakfast or lunch my friend? Breakfast is the most important meal of the day

That is a healthy breakfast. I was starving too earlier, with no breakfast, and ate a late lunch of rice and pork with potatoes.
