I got a medium sized Christmas inflatable for 3 bucks, a very small expensive looking Santa a Vera Bradley wallet and small purse and a birthday bag all for about 5.50. I am glad I got to go to the thrift shop South of here .it's a good one but probably haven't been there in 2 or 3 years. It's not on my route anymore, a d they have strange hours. I will try not to wait so long to visit again. Do you go thrifting?

Those are some good deals! I used to go thrifting with my mom on occasion back in the day. We would have the best time. It was so fun getting a deal.
Growing up though, my sister and I didn’t know we couldn’t afford regular stores, so my mom made it seem like we were looking for the nicest school clothes for the best price. She was good because my sister and I really thought we were on an adventure. That’s a fond memory for me. We found some really nice clothes!

I am not a junkie but I will go when it fits my schedule. That really nice roll top desk I have, I got for 10 bucks at such a place..and paid the laughable fee of 10.00 to get it delivered.

@sallypup Wow, a real Renoir! That has to be worth a pretty penny.

Well done for getting those things … you did well. I do love a bargain. I don’t think we have those sorts of shops where I am though. Such a shame ….

That surprises me. Maybe they just don't have them in your area.

@Traceyjayne I guess yours would be the pound store. Maybe land is too expensive there to support such stores.

@snowy22315 another store that we don’t have in the UK that I hear a lot is The Dollar Tree…….i know a lot of people get craft items from there . I get so jealous when I see what they have got and what they make from them ….i wish we had a Dollar Tree store here.

My relatives go to thrift stores about once a month to buy second hand items like lamps.

We have a local thrift store that I love, with very reasonable prices. It's supported by area churches. Everything is spotlessly clean, they wash all donated items unless the items are brand new. Most clothing is $2, no matter what. It's not but about a mile away, so I do hit it once a month at least.
My last great bargain was a neighbor having a yard sale. I scored a huge Thirty-One insulated bag, brand new, for almost nothing, and a small one as well. Thirty-One is out of business now, I think their items were so overpriced they did it to themselves, but I do like their insulated bags.

That does sound really good Unless it is a multi family yard sale though I don't"t usually bother. Out with just one table set out don't generally have anything that interests me .dishes clothess baby stuff etc. not for me

This was a neighbor a few doors down, so it didn't take much effort to get there. I know what you mean, so often yard sales seem to be all baby clothes!

Nope because there are not a lot of stores there and the quality of the products in my country thrifty are not great. They are also very pricey. So I decided to support the local stores most of the time and let the local store owners earn my money (Their entire life depending on this one store).

Sounds nice, I wouldn't go every weekend though. I already have more crap than I am ever going to need.

No, I can't walk around plus I keep my shopping to a minimum because I'm trying to declutter and downsize. Sounds like you did well.

Always fun to go with friends. That reminds me, I have a friend that might want to go to one of the places I go. She didn't know about it. I might see her Wednesday and I will talk about it with her.
