Do people still wear watches?

I guess Apple watches are really popular (my BIL’s work has him wearing one), and a few Mylotters have talked about owning one. I seem to just look at my phone when I want to know the time, so I haven’t worn one in quite awhile. For a while I even wore a watch ring. But a lot of people really appreciate being able to know their blood pressure and heart rate, which is fantastic. They’ve saved people’s lives before; many of you have even read the stories (whether they alerted to heart attacks or used smart watches to call for help while hurt and immobile).

Not so much People don't even seem to be wearing smart watches as much as they used to. I do have a watch I like to wear sometimes though because it is like a piece of jewelry. Honestly, it needs a battery

Pretty usually wears a smart watch but I've never owned one. I do have two of the old style wrist watches on my dresser but have broken the bands on both of them. It's just easier to check my phone for the time than to replace the wristbands.

@sjvg1976 Yes, if I had my own money, I could get a new wristband for my watch. I won't ask Pretty to pay for something I don't need, though.

A watch will not stay running on my arm. So I always had it in my pocket or purse. Now I just look at my cell phone.

@ambiepam I wear a watch. I don’t need to, but I like to. My wife gave me my watch when I qualified as a beach life guard in 1994 or thereabouts. I got my first watch for my 7th birthday. I must write about that - it was stolen.

I wear an ordinary watch. Yes I could look at my phone, but if I'm working in the garden I would have to get the phone out of my pocket with muddy hands, or go inside to look for it if I didn't take it out with me. Much easier to just glance at my wrist! Incidentally there is apparently a burgeoning market for luxury watches, so someone must be buying them!

@xFiacre There was an interesting radio program about someone who had started a luxury watch brand, apparently some people just keep buying them!

I had a Fitbit for a long time, and then stopped wearing it because the band broke. Chris had a fitbit until the face came off in the water. I haven't really thought about replacing them. I have the one you sent me. I love it. But I don't wear it as often as I should.

It’s pretty amazing how far watches have come—from simple timekeepers to literal life-saving gadgets. Apple Watches and other smartwatches are definitely popular now, especially with all the health features packed in. I haven’t worn a watch in a while either—I usually just check the time on my phone. I’ve heard of watch rings but haven’t tried one myself. Still, I can really see the appeal of smartwatches. Being able to track things like heart rate, blood pressure, or even call for help in an emergency? That’s impressive. Some of those real-life stories where they actually saved lives really make you think twice.

I have a wristwatch in my bag, but I don't wear it. It was gifted by my late husband, so I held on to it for its sentimental value. Otherwise, I don't use it at all because I have everything I need on my cell phone.

I always wear my watch when I’m at work, but I take it off as soon as I get home and I never wear it at the weekend or when I’m on holiday.

The last "watch" I had was part of a step counter I wore on my wrist. I mostly use my phone to check the time these days, or my computer when I'm online.

I like to wear my watch. I know that they show my age, as the younger generations prefer to rely on their devices, as you do. My granddaughter, Harper, has always been fascinated with my 'clock' as she refers to it as. I think that she is showing off just knowing what a clock looks like since everything in their home is digital. She asked for a clock like Nanny's for Christmas last year, but they couldn't find one, so they each got one shortly after that. She loves to put it on, especially when I am there in the mornings. She still likes to ask me to take mine off so that she can wear mine for play for a few minutes. She is absolutely fascinated with the second hand, and the fact that every time that she looks at the watch the hands are at a different position. Yes......she has one of 'those' memories and doesn't forget a single detail.

I never have been into watches. Now that there are hardly any clocks in public I need to figure something out. I rarely bring my flip phone. I guess I rely on my car's clock to know what the time is.

I wear a fitbit. I don't have an alarm clock so I use my fitbit to know the time. But I have been thinking of getting another fitness tracker.
