Lobster corn chowder? Nope!

That is what I wanted to make but my jaw hit the floor when I added 3 lobsters to my Instacart order. It was like $35! Nope! I remember a few years ago when lobsters were cheaper than bologna. We were eating them all the time.
Soooo I substituted claw crab meat which the shopper couldn't find or whatever. They substituted canned crab meat like you find with the tuna. 
Oh well. I will do the best with what I have. Corn, crab, cream, sherry. . . pretty much can't go wrong with that combo.
We shall see!

I am not a fan of lobster chowder but I love fresh lobster with butter.

@NJChicaa Also did you ever hear of the newish FLUFFY chowder in Rye NH?

Eww! I am deathly allergic to seafood of any kind... My sister didn't believe me when I told her that so she brought some seafood medley (She refused to tell us what it was.) to our house and insisted I try a bite. I kept putting her off but she insisted harder so finally, I took a bite. I KNEW I recognized the taste but couldn't place it... I swallowed and my sister started crowing to Pretty that she KNEW I wasn't allergic to seafood. Pretty grabbed my sister by the hand and started dragging her to the door while my sister kept trying to stop her. My throat was already swelling closed and my eyes were streaming. My sister drove us to the hospital where I was admitted with a severe allergic reaction...
We don't accept anything my sister cooks and haven't since that happened. She can't be trusted... And that pisses Sue off like you wouldn't believe... but she made that bed and has to lie in it!

@NJChicaa I was in the hospital for three days while they pumped me full of anti-allergy meds. Once I could see again, I was bored out of my skull. That was before cell phones and good internet. Pretty walked home and brought me back some of my books to read.

That sounds soooo good. Progresso makes a chicken corn chowder which is more than edible. I would love to taste your crab meat corn chowder; but I most likely would have paid for the lobster!!!!

Meat and seafood are crazy expensive. I think most of us have been making a lot of adjustments and substitutions for things. I know our produce here is just crazy high, too.
