We had our upstairs floor done in May. That is usually when we have our Housing inspection. As of this date we have had no inspection. I keep commenting to the kids that they will probably just drop a notification on our door and expect us to be ready for it in a day or two. Well, today we get a memo( not for the inspection thank goodness) dropped in/around our door at about 10:30a.. They are coming tomorrow between 8a. and 4p. to do a roach spraying. UGH! Less than 24 hours to prepare. We have to have all items out of cupboards and drawers in kitchen and bathrooms. All stuff moved away from baseboards. And, if we have seen any cockroaches in other rooms(we haven't) they would need to be prepared also. We have not had any cockroach issue in our apartment since about three years ago when some immigrants lived in the one next door (#4) for about a year. They were chopping some kind of food continuously on their kitchen floor. It smelled awful(fermented probably) and we had to smell it all the time they lived there. Maintenance had quite a job putting in new flooring in there too. What a mess!
So we are getting the kitchen and bathrooms ready for the roach spray tomorrow. We are cockroach free but it's good to have the place sprayed regardless. I will have to wear a mask because they want us to leave the place for about 2 hours which I can't do. I don't leave the apartment. I don't know what the kids are going to do. Go over to the park I guess.
The next thing will probably be the inspection. Surely they won't go a year without doing one. If anyone knows me they know I get nervous when we have to deal with Housing. Always have. It's gotten better over the years but it still effects me.

@RebeccasFarm ....... I don't care for it. We are all staying in. They don't want to go out in the heat. Grandson brought his computer upstairs so we will just stay in our rooms.

We've had it done before. Not a great experience but the smell does go away rather quickly.

It’s good that you got some notice. They should give you longer though.
