It's not the Second Coming

It's done. I actually had my little car cared for today. Gulp. It has been three years since its oil was changed. I had no idea but learned quickly. Ernie's Quick Lube told me to stay in the car while they changed the oil, washed the dirty windows, and yes might as well put on new windshield wipers. And yes to a new air filter and top up the antifreeze. They checked the tire pressure, too. The silly check engine light was on though I changed out the gas cap last year. They checked that, too- still a little emissions leak somewhere. Car still starts right up and sounds the same as it did last year so no gasp there. I drove into the oil change shop thinking I'd get the oil changed before we went on next week's trip. And came away feeling like my car had been thoroughly examined. Well worth the money.

Yay! I’m glad you got it all done and taken care of. You can check that off your list.

@AmbiePam Thanks. I had a funny moment today. I was about to pull out of Staples parking lot. I noticed a car next to me. I glanced over, wondered where the rest of the car was? And realized it was a Smart car. Half the size of my already little car. Made me laugh when I realized there wasn't any more car there.

@sallypup They are quite funny looking. I don’t think one of my legs would fit inside.

@AmbiePam Smart cars look low to the ground. I'm not sure I could get into one for that reason.

I'm glad you got everything checked out and it's all done now. I'd hate for you to be out on the road and something go wrong. You're too far away for me to reach you quickly.

@sallypup You're always welcome. I know I could get there in less than a day if you needed me, though.

great to get done before a trip. Knowing everything is in order will make the trip more relaxing, I am sure.

@GardenGerty @LindaOhio Agreed. My car sounded and felt okay but I hadn't had experts look at it in years so I decided it was time.

That's really good. I have a major power steering leak I am going to have to get fixed soon. Luckily, I have fluid I can use in the interim

@snowy22315 Oh no. I remember once when my power steering went out. I thought for sure I was going to crash before I got off the road.

It's very reassuring to know that your car is roadworthy now, especially as you intend to take to the road soon.
