Deputies with the St. John's County Sheriff's Office (SJCSO) answered a call from a resident on Friday July 25 about an alligator who entered a swimming pool illegally. A deputy with the SJCSO managed to capture the alligator safely and remove the animal from the swimming pool and into his squad car. The alligator was then buckled inside the squad car and taken to a nearby pond. Thank goodness no one was hurt in the incident. Link is abc3340,com/news/offbeat/a...

That would be startling to find an alligator in your pool.

I would be scared as well if I saw an alligator in my swimming pool.

I'm glad the alligator didn't wriggle out of the seat-belt. That might have led to an interesting situation.

That is true since had the alligator broke away from the seat belt and attacked the police officer which would have been chaotic.

The deputy was not too safety conscious, using a seat belt like that, and he should have placed it in the boot, with some rope tied around its mouth. Nobody should take a risk with an alligator. Seat belts are not meant to restrain alligators.

Now there is an uninvited guest! I bet alligator sightings are very common in the state of Florida and the police are expert at corralling them.
