They call it the “Grand Canyon,” but grand doesn’t even begin to explain it.
I’m sure you’re all familiar with the Grand Canyon. You’ve seen pictures, videos, and that funny scene in National Lampoon’s Vacation where Clark Griswold looks at it for three seconds before taking off.
My first time to see the Grand Canyon was in 1984…from about 36,000 feet up. It looked like a hole in the ground.
Standing there today, however, speechless as I looked out over that incredible beauty, I thought grand was the lowest form of compliment it could be given.
As I said, you all know about it, regardless of where you’re from. It’s one of the best-known places on earth. It’s one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. I thankfully don’t have to explain it to you….because it’s not possible.
As usual, this photo doesn’t even begin to do it justice. If you’ve been there, you know exactly what I mean.

I have visited that place. I still cannot forget the flight from Las Vegas which was pretty turbulent.

I’m sorry that you remember the unpleasant flight more than the beauty of the canyon.

I have been there. There is a long expanse and much to see. It is a wonder of this great land of ours. Just one of so many.

@FourWalls that's so lovely. I think having God is the key to have a happy life and next to it is to know how to embrace our life seasons.

Yup. A photo cannot express that feeling you get when you get that first glimpse.

I’ve been there, and it’s very impressive. I was on an organised tour and took a helicopter flight to try to take in the vastness of the canyon.
An incredible sight for sure.

Have you gone down on a donkey?

No way. I am in no physical shape to ride a donkey or take the altitude change without an oxygen tank.

It’ll make you humble before God, that’s for certain.
