Waiting (and I HATE) waiting

Happy Wednesday Everyone! the morning has started out fairly nice but rain and/or storms coming by this evening. We need the rain. Yesterday my refrigerator started making a grinding kind of noise so I had to call for service. The appointment is scheduled for today 8am to 5pm. Was up early and dressed in case we were lucky enough to be 1st or even 2nd on the list. Nope. They will text when they are on their way giving us a window of time to expect them (usually an hour window). So far no text and it's just hard to get involved in anything. So, until they come, my day will be spent waiting. Of course I'm hoping it's an easy fix and not an expense that will break the bank. Appliance repair is always scary

Yeah, it is. I don't like my refrigerator, so when it breaks I will be getting a new one. It already leaks water sometimes which is annoying. This one I would not get repaired. Good luck with yours.

I'm not ready for a new one yet but I might be if the repair is too costly. They certainly don't make appliances like they used to. Nothing lasts very long anymore.

@Marilynda1225 Did I ever tell you the story of my current fridge? i bought this I think in about 2010 or 11. The fridge broke down 3x when it was still brand new. I had words with the maker Whirlpool. They gave me a repairman, and told me if I had any other issues to contact them directly. Anyway, he replaced the control board and no issues since.

@Marilynda1225 I never like to start something when I wait for people. I know that as soon as I start they arrive.

I hope they get here soon. I feel like the day is being wasted by waiting. I have things I want to do

I think the appliances are so cheap at my apartment complex that they don’t bother trying to fix them; they just buy a new one. Hopefully, you don’t have to wait all day!

So far I'm still waiting and I know the minute I get involved in something that's when they'll show up. I just hope they get here before nap time

It's a bit surprising sometimes to find out it's cheaper to replace something than to have it repaired.

Here we have an app where we can select which appliance we want to repair and they send the repairmen. It works out for me.

I agree, I hate waiting and I hate needing to have an appliance or anything else fixed. You never know when somebody will show up and hos much it will cost to fix whatever is broken. Just like our washing machine when it needed to be fixed. We thought we had someone coming to fix it but, two weeks later, they still hadn't shown up... I called somebody else, they showed up an hour later and had it fixed half an hour after that and only charged $100... I saved the new guy's number and will call him for any appliance repairs from now on.

I know how you feel being fearful when an appliance needs to be repaired.
