Have you ever known someone who was murdered?

All in all, you hear a lot about gun violence in this country, but in all my years I have not known anyone who was killed. My mother heard about the older sister of a classmate who was murdered. Friend's brother knew someone and a former neighbor knew of two young women staying in a lake community they were at were murdered, but it is uncommon enough you can live your whole life without knowing any murder Vics.

I had a good friend who lost a loved one in the Sandy Hook shooting. I get so, so angry when people say that was faked. It wasn't.

We do not lack for idiots, do we? Or heartless people, either. The pain of those parents and families that lost a child in that mess...and to have some people say it was all fake. Heartwrenching.

@snowy22315 l had an appointment to see him the next week. He was a kind, quiet doctor. It happened in 2019.

One of my childhood friend was murdered about 15 years back. I got to know about it a few years later as I was not in touch with her. Some thieves got into the house in the afternoon and she fought back so that the kids were not harmed and got killed in the bargain.

Years ago there was a high profile story about a newspaper delivery boy who was delivering a paper to a farm just as the farm was being robbed….unfortunately the boy got shot and killed ….possibly because of what he had seen.
This newspaper boy was called Carl Bridgewater…. I went to school with him and used to play with him and his sister.
Carl was a lovely boy and a good friend. It was a terribly sad time.

Many years ago I lived in a particular community. There was a meeting to commemorate those who had been killed We played 'Johnny Was'... that is a Bob Marley song.... and called out the names of those who had been shot and killed.... We had to play the song twice.
