The Allergies Are a’Comin

Tonight, has been one big day of allergy problems. I just took an allergy pill after the homeopathic solutions did not work. I know some of you require allergy shots, either in the past, or present. One “funny” thing about my dad’s allergies are that he had none growing up in the country. Now, if he goes back to where he grew up he can’t sleep without loading up on allergy medication because the allergies affect him so badly his eardrums have burst (I’m not kidding). Of course, in his forties he also became allergic to shrimp. Are you having allergy problems? Spring is my worst time of year, with summer the only other usual time I have problems.

Allergy pills bug me. They always just make me drowsy and never actually fix things.

Thank goodness I do not have any allergy problems even though I do get symptoms of colds due to the high humidity outside.

Allergies have not visited me so far. Keeping my fingers crossed. I believe in homoeopathy and take it regularly for any minor issues - cold, throat irritation, mild uti, .....

Spring is also my worst time of the year for pollen allergies. As I have glaucoma I cannot take allergy pills and this is really bad.

Oh, Anna, that’s terrible. Are nasal sprays okay to use at least? Last night I could barely stand it so I can’t imagine how much they must bother you.

@AmbiePam - Only certain nasal sprays are safe, I have a prescription from my ophthalmologist.

I didn't have allergies growing up in the country but started getting allergic reactions after I move into the city. Now, being outside will cause my allergies to flair up and I have fun with them for several days after I come back inside and stay. I have allergic reactions all year round. I hope you feel better quickly.

I don't have a lot of problems with allergies that I know of. I do sometimes get sneezing attacks though for no apparent reason.

Yes--my right eye has been watery and sticky for over a week, now, and I don't know what blew into it. I seriously hope I never get allergic to any kind of seafood.

Oh, yes, I have allergy problems. “They” say your allergies changed every so often. I guess that’s true, because I had a tomato allergy when I was a kid and now they don’t bother me. We have something here called the “Ohio Valley Crud,” because allergies are just terrible here. I can drive 50 miles south or north and feel better, so it’s a real thing.

People underestimate just how badly allergies can affect one’s life.

My husband suffers with them, but not at the moment. I hope that you can get them under control.

Thankfully I'm not prone to allergies but I do sneeze a lot if I'm outside when they're doing the mowing and it's really weird but my oldest daughters dog (who is a short haired lab) makes my eyes water.

I used to say that the only thing I am allergic to is dust, but about two years ago I discovered I'm allergic to pollen. Spring is sometimes bad for me. Some allergy pills make me dizzy.
