Goodbye Sparklight

I had been on the phone back and forth with Sparklight and Centurylink for nearly 4 hours today. First I got the usual run around from Sp doing our annual negotiating for a decent price, and after I hung up i talked with my grandson and decided why go threw this every year? They want to charge over $100 just for high speed internet. So, I called Centurylink to see if we could work it so that we would not be without service for any amount of time. Called back Sp and they are disconnecting our service on Saturday the 23rd. The way it will work is that Centurylink will connect on the 22nd ,and we will actually have two internet services for about 24 hours.
It feels weird after 30 years to go elsewhere but why be hassled every year with negotiating to keep it at a reasonable price? When Century charges the same amount each month with no deviation.
I am tired.

That's probably your best bet. I hated negotiating our internet price every year. I'm glad you have an "out" for that kind of silliness.

@celticeagle I hope so, too. Didn't you check the online reviews for that company?

Keeping ahead of cable/satellite charges is a full-time job! You have to check on them constantly. Now you should be good.

@celticeagle I hope so too. I knew switching from cable back to satellite was going to be problematic. The rain, s**w and ice interfere with reception....but Spectrum just got too darn expensive.

Wow, I can really feel your exhaustion through this. Four hours of back-and-forth with internet providers would drain anybody.

Yes, I get tired dealing with people. Glad when it's connected and we can forget about it.

Yes, it seems to be. I just hope this one is good and we can get out from under having to pay so much.
