Good night, friends. I have been changing my eating hours because of the cold. And Luna´s dinner is at noon. Tonight I found artichokes in the fridge. I boiled them all and te 2 of them as dinner tonight. They were small and so tender that I had to have 2 instead of the usual one. Today I have been reading old letter and watching documentaries made around the wonderful series Downton Abbey. I discovered that the money paid for filming was spent in saving the beautiful building from disaster. Many other such building have either turned into something else, including tearing.them down to use the land It is a pity but I could not live in a too big house. As it is, I want to sell my house and live in a much smaller one. But I´m happy with my King size bed. Half of it is a desk. When I get up I´ll take the dishes to the kitchen. Meanwhile, they are in the bed-dining room. Good night, friends. Sleep tight.

This evening, I ate a small serving of lasagna.... We bought a large portion of it and Pretty cooked it this afternoon. We're getting used to this much smaller house but we (Pretty) keep filling it up with stuff we don't need and then, when I complain enough, packing that stuff into plastic totes and putting them out in the garage. I complain about all the junk she keeps buying but she keeps buying it anyway. *sigh* I have a queen sized bed and half of it is desk for me.

@marguicha I bought my queen-sized bed after I started getting my first divorce. It's quite old now and Pretty and I are talking about buying me a new mattress either for it or for a smaller bed. If I get a smaller bed, I'll miss the headboard light and all the storage space on it. We don't have a lot of money, either, but Pretty still buys stuff anyway. The government keeps our fridge filled with too much food.

@DaddyEvil We need storage space in our bed if we do things there besides sleeping. I watch TV in bed, read and write in my laptop.

I do love some artichokes. I have not tried to eat this. I wonder what is the taste.

I so agree. It is a pity that such wonderful places go this way. I watch a channel on YouTube that is about abandoned mansions and castles. This young man travels around the world to film abandoned homes. Many are left furnished and with all the accessories. One place I just saw had many antiques in every room. The lady of the house must have been a doll collector for there were dozens of old fancy dolls all around. It was quite a place.

@celticeagle That´s the main reason why they are destroyed. Countries shiuld take care of them for their historical value.

I have heard that they have to pay a lot in taxes. Historic places should be excempt from them.

I loved my big house in Switzerland. I was very sad when we decided to sell, it was a difficult decision, but now I am so happy in this apartment. It's just the right size for us, no more stairs and no more too large rooms to clean.

I haven´t seen how the second floor is for almost a year. I´ll have to go up one of these days so that it is in order when people start coming to see the house again.

@marguicha - We used the entry floor and the upper floor. I only went to the lower floor to do laundry, to find things in the basement and when we invited friends, because of the large family room with the fireplace downstairs. The kitchen was on the ground floor, the up and down from and to the lower floor to serve our guests was exhausting.

@LadyDuck When we get older, we need a one floor house. Stairs are not for me any longer.

Artichokes for dinner sounds delish and cozy.. If u could live anywhere, would u pick a tiny cozy spot or go big with a fancy old house?

I like a bigger house in summer. Then I try to reach my books in the second floor. Now, with the cold, my house is mainly my bedroom. And now that I have a King size bed, my life is my bed.
