A different kind of coffee table

I wrote about Vince checking out a plane and finding a shed full of fancy cars. The guy also showed him his man-cave which was very fancy too. He works as an aeroplane technician (I think that’s the term) and certifies planes as air-worthy. One of Vince’s photos that caught my eye was the coffee table which is a circle of glass placed on top of a 9 cylinder radial aeroplane engine. The settee behind the table looks pretty nice too.

That coffee table makes me wonder if the guy has a wife or if he pays a maid to keep it looking like that. You KNOW it will be dusty in five minutes...

It's in his man-cave so perhaps he doesn't bother although it looks okay here.

This is for sure an unusual table. I like the old style settee.

That might be hard to keep nice but I like it. How do other people keep glass from being smeared?

I don't have anything that is glass-topped. I used to have glass tops on two little side tables. The hardest thing was to keep them from sliding off.

That's certainly a striking conversation piece isn't it! I know someone who would love that.

It's a good use for what is probably now unusable for its original purpose.

Wow, that coffee table sounds amazing and so unique! Turning a radial airplane engine into furniture is such a clever idea—I bet it’s a real conversation piece. The whole place sounds like a dream man-cave, especially with those fancy cars around too. Vince must have really enjoyed seeing all of that!

Yes, he did enjoy his time there and is going to take his brother there one day. The guy has invited them.
