A different kind of coffee table

I wrote about Vince checking out a plane and finding a shed full of fancy cars. The guy also showed him his man-cave which was very fancy too. He works as an aeroplane technician (I think that’s the term) and certifies planes as air-worthy. One of Vince’s photos that caught my eye was the coffee table which is a circle of glass placed on top of a 9 cylinder radial aeroplane engine. The settee behind the table looks pretty nice too.

That coffee table makes me wonder if the guy has a wife or if he pays a maid to keep it looking like that. You KNOW it will be dusty in five minutes...

It's in his man-cave so perhaps he doesn't bother although it looks okay here.

@RasmaSandra Some people put coin or stamp collections under glass too to make a coffee table.

That might be hard to keep nice but I like it. How do other people keep glass from being smeared?

I don't have anything that is glass-topped. I used to have glass tops on two little side tables. The hardest thing was to keep them from sliding off.

This is for sure an unusual table. I like the old style settee.

It would be a talking point and very suitable for a man-cave.

It's a good use for what is probably now unusable for its original purpose.
