She Still Needs More Experience.

This is the situation my daughter is facing right now. The continuous rain brought floods in the area where her university is. She went there this morning with rain but no flood. But due to the incessant rain, flood begins to rise up. She and her four classmates opted to wait in their college while others traverse the flood.
The photo is the actual photo Infront of their building. The one with red arrow is the entrance of their building
So I messaged her to walk inside the campus and pass through the other buildings inside until she can see the other uni gates especially the one infront of her dorm. There's no flood there!
And yes she and her friends made it out the university without going through the flood. They still need a lot of experience. I'm sure they will mature soon to be able to handle this kind of situation in the future.

That's a lot of rain to deal with. Hopefully, the water levels will go down soon.

She will be OK. Part of moving away from home is learning how to do things you didn't know how to do before. She won't have you right there all the time, and I know that's hard. But she will learn, and grow.

I'm glad you were able to explain how to get around the flooded areas. No reason for her and her friends to wade through the flood if they can get home without doing that.
She'll learn and be fine.

Glad you were able to help her navigate around the flooded waters. Having to wade through all the water certainly would have been horrible.

That's a lot of water!
When our children become adults and head off to university or out into the adult world, they want to show they're grown up and mature and can make their own decisions. But they don't have the experience yet to know that they don't have the answers to everything, and they haven't gained the experience and wisdom that is accumulated over time. It's nice that we--as parents--can offer guidance and direction to our children and then let them use that to gain their own experience. But sometimes, trial and error is also the best way for them to learn. We can share our experiences all we want, but that doesn't mean they'll always take our advice. Sometimes they just want to figure it all out on their own.

@rakski If not, she'll find a way to figure it out on her journey to adulthood.

@rakski Exactly! Every challenge is a chance to grow stronger... And that resilience will serve them for life.

Still, it is better to be safe. She can study in her room if she has the books.

Is that Manila City Hall?
Lol! I remember going home flood is on our waist level, hahaha, my classmates and I are still laughing and joking, with other kids and working people walking home to letre! imagine that!
I remember one of my naughty classmate told us to follow the man in front of us, so when there is a canal or uneven cement, we will know, and avoid it, lol! Those were the days.

At least you're moving forward. That is the only thing to do, always.
Fortunately, my daughter can use the other gate of the university Infront of her dormitory without flood.
