Naked flying.

Twice this week the news has reported on the naked antics of aircraft crew - I await the inevitable third. The first was a pilot who was found drunk with no sign of his clothes, wandering around a hotel in Cape Verde, 36 hours before he was due to fly a plane load of passengers neck to England. Nudity in the cockpit bothers me not, so long as the door is closed, but hangovers are something else. I like my pilots to be feeling comfortable so long as they are in charge of their faculties, and they wash down the seat afterwards. The second was a member of the cabin crew on a BA flight from the USA. He was found unclad and as high as a kite in the toilet of the plane. He has already lost his job. The first flasher has been suspended pending an investigation but I don’t fancy his chances. I do hope @looeyville doesn’t encounter any naked, drunk crew on her flight home.

On their own time, they should be able to do anything they want without the company saying anything but, as soon as they go on the clock, they should be sober, feeling alert and ready to do their job. When I worked at a window manufacturing company, the bosses would come in drunk and make problems for the employees just doing their jobs. (The company owner came in stoned/drunk one Saturday after we'd been building windows for a huge order and came out on the floor and started kicking finished windows because he thought hearing the glass break was funny. It cost him several more days for us to re-do all the damaged windows and caused the customer to sue over the windows being late for the job. Trying to deliver the order before the due date was the entire reason we were working overtime on a Saturday.)

That's strange! Here bosses cannot be allowed to come in drunk even the owner won't do this, there are some rules which everyone has to follow.

@sjvg1976 The owner of a business makes the rules for the company. As long as he doesn't break any laws, he can do anything else he wants. The owner of that company didn't break any laws.

I wonder how they were allowed to do their duties that day, they could have put their passengers in danger.

Well, let’s hope they get therapy before they get back to any kind of job. You’ve definitely got a problem if you get caught doing what they were doing, where they were doing it.

Yes, a pilot in charge of his faculties is the one to strive for. Good grief. I hope it's just a fad.

You cannot do this when you're at job. There are rules and ethics which one must follow.

Those are scary tales. Thankfully, we don't intend to do too much flying in the near future - or far future, for that matter.
