Cats rule and dog drool. Dogs have better scent smells than a cat. A cat can hear better than a dog can. Cats are more picky when it comes to what they will eat over a dog. A cat will not eat anything that they do not like. Dogs use their tails more to tell you when they are happy or excited more than a cat does. Cats sleep more during the day than a dog does. If you call a dog it will come to you. If you call a cat it will only come if it wants to. Otherwise it will ignore you and not come.

@allknowing Dogs also love you just because you give them food, they are simply looking for a more affectionate way to thank you for your attention, but they are still animals and should not understand your emotions, only their own.

Cats are just like kids and will eat what they pretend not to like if you don't give them something else to eat. When Pretty was little, she tried to go on a hunger strike because another girl told her onions were gross... I refused to make separate meals for each of us and told her I had already made supper and I'd put hers in the fridge. When she got hungry, she could eat it. When I went into the kitchen the next morning, I found her plate in the sink. She's gotten up during the night and eaten her supper after all. Cats will do the same thing.

Not all cats will. Mine will not eat anything that they do not like. I just threw it away and never buy it again.

@jstory07 It's probably a good thing I don't have pets. I wouldn't pander to them like that.

Cats can't eat all the things a dog can, they thrive best on meats whereas pups can thrive on some veggies with the meats, they're almost omnivores As for dogs coming when called, not mine, he gives me this look as if to say 'why?' then just stares at me.

I have only had one dog since I left home and he was a good dog he came when called and stayed right with us. He was a stray and no one claimed him so we kept him.

@jstory07 I wish we could have one..we always did when he was a kid so I don't know what changed to be allergic to them. Sad.

We were always dog people. There's nothing better than a wagging tail to lighten your mood. I could use a wagging tail right now!!!

@jstory07 Not anymore. When we got rid of our last two dogs we decided no more dogs. I wouldn't be able to go out in the yard and chase a dog that wouldn't come or take them to the vet. I miss them so much; but it's best if I don't have them anymore. Sad.

Plenty of dogs don't come when they are called or take their good old time deciding to come. I had one like that. If you called him he would wag his tail at you...like I see you friend...I will be along in a minute. 5 minutes or so later he would come in. I had a dog also that never came when he was called. That dog was crazy. My uncle had one like that once too.

Well, since I prefer cats, I've had both and I've really enjoyed the experience the data gives me. Cats are cleaner, more independent, and they also take care of themselves. For example, they do not drink from stagnant water, they only drink from moving water, which indicates a lot of wisdom and they are even affectionate.

It depends. My cats know their names and most of the time turn their head and come my way when I call them.
