Let me preface this by saying I don't believe in ghosts, the supernatural, etc. Many do but I don't. Still over the past couple of days some strange things have happened.
While I was not staying here this past week I would wake up in the middle of the night and feel Adso snuggling up against me. I'd look at the floor and see Claire walk by with her floofy tail. It happened repeatedly. I guess it was just some kind of subconscious memory. Charlie didn't factor in but that doesn't surprise me since /////////Adso is a bully and won't let him in the bedroom.
Yesterday I wound up in the ER for a stupid reason, served my 5 or 6 hours, and was waiting for an Uber back to where I needed to go. I was sitting in a wheelchair waiting for the ride. Across the waiting room there was a man who looked exactly like my dearly departed dad. He was his doppelganger. I didn't want to be rude and take a picture nor would I have sent it to my mother because it would no doubt have upset her. The rememblance was THAT similar. I kept looking at him and he kept looking at me. I texted her tonight that I saw "Dad" in the ER and she said "you probably did. He was trying to help you." Um thanks Dad but the Uber was already on its way.
Weird stuff. I'm just going to chalk it up to the medications I've been on.

With “the anniversary” coming up next week, it could be a combination of lots of thoughts about him…and, yes, the medication. And the concern about your medical problem that put you in the ER in the first place.

@NJChicaa — breaking news, huh?
A weird thing regarding a recent ER visit: I was told my appendix had been removed in 1995 (30 years ago today, to be exact), and come to discover that it WASN’T.

@FourWalls what the hell did they remove then?
I get it. When they first got into me they thought it was Meckel's diverticulum. A week later for the final surgery my appendix was about to blow. The thing was was so huge that the surgeons didn't recognize it as an appendiz.

I do remember thinking that someone who my late mom knew for a long time spoke to me in a dream to take of my late mom before the son of her friend called my relatives mom to share the bad news of the passing of hi mom the morning after the voice spoke to me in a dream.

I'm glad that wasn't me. I'd be freaked out. The only time I had a really weird experience was when I lived at home.

A few years ago, I was out with my kids, sitting not far from us with his back to us was a stocky, white haired older man. From the back, he honestly did look just like my Dad. I didn't say anything about it, but I noticed it. Anyway, after a few minutes, this fellow laughed--a big hearty laugh just exactly like my Dad used to laugh. I couldn't move...it was so, so real. My oldest girl was next to me and I didn't have to say anything at all, she heard it too, and knew it sounded just like her Grandpa. It was eerie, for sure! My Dad has been gone for 36 years, so it wasn't right after he passed away...lookalikes can be so strange.
