My parents were very careful on what my sister and I were allowed to watch as children, so even though I was born in 1981, I grew up on old movies. Gene Kelly and Judy Garland were my favorite in musicals, and I enjoyed Rita Hayworth too. Undoubtedly though, my favorite was Maureen O’Hara. Who is/was your favorite old time movie stars? Must see older comedy? “The Courtship of Eddie’s Father” with Ron Howard as Eddie.

My favorite old-time actors are Jimmy Stewart and Humphrey Bogart. Highly-rated old comedy: The More the Merrier with Jean Arthur in her Oscar-nominated role.

I think there were two versions of Courtship of Eddie’s father, so you may be thinking of the other one without Ron Howard. You probably have some of my very favorite musicals.

I grew up watching Bollywood movies. We watched movies in theaters and it was not very frequent. I started watching Hollywood movies very late in life. It was during my college time. And liked Julia Roberts a lot.. I know she is not that old

Grace Kelly (may be because I lived in Monte Carlo) and Cary Grant, who often came to Monte Carlo when Princess Grace was alive.

I've heard of some of those actors but can't picture them... Dad always watched Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Whatever dad wanted to watch is what we watched... A lot of the time, I read a book while dad watched his old westerns.

Hmm, never really a fan of older movies. Maybe someone handsome like Errol Flynn or Tyrone Power. Gregory Peck was pretty good too.

I loved Maureen O' Hara. Bette Davis was a bit spooky, but I liked some of her movies a lot. Jimmy Stewart, Henry Fonda, Paul Newman, Gary Cooper...a lot of oldies that were old even when I was a kid.

I only felt moments of happiness during my childhood. Now that I'm an adult, watching movies feels ordinary.
