Going to Have a Brain CT Scan

United States

Oh what fun it is to see a doctor only to be referred to more doctors and more tests ordered. Yippee! My primary care physician is concerned about my having fallen twice in the past six months combined with my cognitive impairment and muscle weakness. She ordered a boatload of lab tests looking for auto-immune diseases. Like my husband says, going to the doctor only sucks you into the ongoing Medical Vortex!

Your falls certainly sounded perfectly reasonable, but I know they like to connect dots if they can. Last time I had a CT on my brain I asked if it looked fat. (That got me a giggle)

I know it's not easy, one feels frustrated because what we expect is for a doctor to tell you absolutely everything in a single consultation and not have to worry about going back.If it were that easy, but the truth is not like that, unfortunately there is no other way out when you have to find a solution to your health problems, asking for patience seems endless, but we have no other choice.Although I cannot understand how there are people who love being in doctor's offices, I have an aunt who, if she doesn't have an illness, she makes one up herself so she can go to the doctor's office.

There are about 100 billion nerves in the brain and it is similar to a processor that has 16 billion transistors. It's quite complicated and also very scary.

I'm inclined to believe this but what choices do you have?

It seems fun, but it also makes me think of something scary.

He is right, you know. If we fall it is never something that was just a stumble, to our doctors it is a crisis. One year I fell regularly, once a month. I was exhausted from caring for a sick husband, and there was ice on the ground, and so on and so forth. If there is something, I hope they find it.

Best of luck to you and I hope the results are good. I watch all of these med shows because they remind me how lucky I am not to have to have such problems, Virtual hugs,

@looeyville I agree with hubby. What is it with doctors? I do my best to keep out of their clutches.
