You’re looking at a good sport.

I asked my sister how in the world they got Amyra (my 14 year old niece in the middle) to put on that costume and my sister’s reply was, “She’s a good sport”. My sister and BIL took their kids to see friends of my BIL where one had been his boss. They had never met the kids, but after following them on Facebook they really wanted to meet them and my sister. This is a place in Alabama where they are known for their hot dogs, and get you to take pictures with their big mural with costumes available for kids. Are you a good sport? Do you have any good examples? I don’t think my mother would have even suggested I do this at 14, and probably not even my dad! Annelyn and Hudson obviously didn’t care much.

Pretty would have looked at me like I was crazy if I suggested she get dressed up like a hotdog at 14... I wouldn't have done that at 14, either.

Nope, me neither! And when Annelyn is 14 she’ll refuse to do something like that too. But Amyra is a sweet kid who will go with the flow. However, Amyra will not let this photo go on Facebook. So she’ll only go so far.

OMG that is a priceless picture. I'm usually a good sport. I will pose for pictures behind a picture with a hole for your head.

I'm glad she enjoys it because, wow, when I was her age, costumes and masks were my personal nightmare. I couldn't stand wearing them; they felt like some kind of itchy torture device! During school activities that required dressing up, I’d go full ninja mode—dodging, hiding, coming up with every excuse in the book to avoid participating. My anxiety would spike so high, you’d think I was preparing for a heist. Looking back, I probably missed out on a ton of fun moments, but hey, hindsight is 20/20, right? At least it’s all in the past now!

@AmbiePam l really do not know what’s troubling me about this. Most of the children at my age enjoyed this but l didn’t. They would ran around playing in costumes and enjoyed being silly about it. Even during my adulthood l never enjoyed costume parties.

I like to think so …..at work we celebrate World Book Day where we all dress up as characters from a book. This happens every year. The children love it.

Oh no! My nephews and nieces will never do that, because they hate being teased, you know, here in the Philippines, kids take their looks seriously at an early age, maybe a few kids will enjoy it, but not all. Your niece will surely enjoy her youth with that kind of good attitude.

She is a good sport and a very supportive and good big sister. She sets an amazing example to both her younger sister and brother. I always try to be a good sport, we can all take a minute and enjoy a good laugh at our own expense now and then.

Vince is a good sport. He sat in a restaurant one night with a doll on his lap and a little girl insisting that he 'feed' the doll from time to time.

You know what I think? That in our days, we were even more embarrassed when we were preteens, even carrying a bag in our hands. But today's youth I don't know how a little more carefree, more relaxed, I think social networks work a lot on that and also now there is a lot of talk about bullying and all those things
