I do not fry chicken

Or I should say I have not fried chicken in a very long time. I did this evening.I do not have an air fryer or insta pot, just a stove and a skillet.
With it we had mashed potatoes and white gravy.
I also served a Bird'sEye blend of carrots, broccoli, snow peas and water chestnuts.
We ate sliced tomatoes.
I probably will not fry things a lot, but this is so good. I am glad the weather cooled enough for me to want to fry chicken.
I think I am ready for a food coma, or at least a nap.

There may be more of us without an air fryer than I thought.

@GardenGerty - I bought one, tried it as soon as back home and brought it back to the store!

@GardenGerty We don't have an air fryer either. Like @LadyDuck, we bought one but only used it once.

I think this blend would be good with oriental food as well.

I have baked oven fry chicken in the past and I really understand about the grease in the air from frying foods.

I refuse to fry chicken or bacon. I'll bake chicken but won't fry it because the grease from frying it always pops me and I hate that. I will buy fried chicken, once in a while. I LOVE fried chicken. (Price Cutter, the more expensive store here in our city makes a really good fried chicken but we rarely buy it because it's expensive.) I will buy chicken strips from Price Cutter but it's hard to talk Pretty into chicken strips. She'll eat a chicken strip once in a blue moon and claims I don't need chicken strips as often as I want them.

I will bake bacon, or chicken, etc. I do not generally like frying. I like Pizza Ranch fried chicken. Have you ever been there? It is a buffet with fried chicken, and also pizzas, and desserts and salad bar. Great coffee, too.

@GardenGerty I won't bake bacon, either. I tell Pretty the only bacon we can buy is already cooked bacon. I baked bacon once and had a big mess in the oven that I had to clean up. I'm surprised it didn't catch on fire.
We don't Pizza Ranch here. Or, if we do, I've never seen one.

Our Sunday meal was a beef chuck roast with potatoes, onions, carrots and celery. Mom made good fried chicken as well, but not so often.

That sounds like such a comforting, classic meal.. fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy is hard to beat.
No wonder you’re ready for a food coma after that feast!
