Disclaimer....this is some logical fun aimed at Indians - do not take it seriously!!! So................ I have been brought up by Brahmins...sorta...during vacations, and a couple of years of my life. So I do know that they don't eat beef. Chicken. Pork. Prawns. Fish. Goat. Their male or female counter parts. Well, I have limited knowledge on the subject so...forgive me if I have not mentioned all edible animals. All I can say is, me too. I mean I too don't eat all that. So this is what Acharya Prashant had to say about it. Seriously? You look down on non veg eaters? Think again when you drink some milk. (I have lactose intolerance ...but I do manage curds). A cow lives about 25 years. May live more. But that is the average span. It gives milk for only 4 to 5 years. Cow must give birth to a calf to produce that milk. Cows that give birth also known as Heifers ......have to be two years old (approx.) After 8 to 10 years, its no longer gonna give birth to produce babies. So first two years, plus balance 13 years of life, it is having free lunch. Do you think this is viable for milk producers who let you have milk at the rate it reaches your kitchen? They sell the cow after it stops giving milk. Or desert it, if they have some fear of god. They also sell male calves. Yes, that is the beef India exports. Without that, we are not gonna be able to afford that milk, or all milk products. And we also steal milk from the young calf when it is born. That is like food served in front of your baby, and the nanny decides, the baby can eat less and eats away the rest. How then are we the vegetarians any holier than my condemned American friends, read Pony and DE. Reality bites, eh?

Well if you eat curds you admit that you also consume milk but in another form. If God wanted us not to eat meats he would have created us vegetarian as they did for many animals.

Yeah. I am a sinner too. But how else do we survive, without exploiting these animals?

@vandana7 - I know, we exploit them to work and we eat animals. I never eat baby animals and I limit the quantity of meat I eat. My husband and I are both Italians, so it's a lot of vegetables, fruits, beans and pasta.

I was brought up on a farm and enjoy most meats. I could quite easily be vegetarian though if I lived on my own.

And to think I was under such a great illusion that I was a vegetarian. LOL. Yeah, somethings that we do not think of, or are not aware of makes us feel holier than thou. But the fact is, we the milk drinking vegetarians are no better than the rest. I only get to condemn Pony and DE. LOL

I was raised to eat meat and enjoy eating it. If we weren't supposed to eat meat, why make animals taste so good? Edit to add: Even "vegetarian" animals will eat meat. There are a LOT of YT videos showing cows, deer and horses eating baby bunnies and baby birds.

I love eating meat. I have seen a couple of people say they were vegetarian because they didn't believe in killing animals. Those same people were wearing leather shoes

I refuse to eat veal. I mostly eat chicken. I don't like the mistreatment of any animal.
