I Believe He Was an Air Dancer

At some point the gates of the asylums were let open (in fact, in the 80s), and so, sometimes you encounter some rather interesting people on the sides of the road or in other places. You get all the usual fare. People talking to no one there. I remember one guy who used to sit at a bus stop and roll phantom dice. The funny thing about him is that he would get angry. Even in his fantasy casino he was a loser. One guy I observed a few weeks ago doing karate moves against a tree. But the other day, outside of a vape shop, on the corner while I was stopped at a light, a very disheveled and out of sorts man was there, shirtless, tattooed and barefoot, literally weaving and bobbing to and fro and up and down... Exactly like you would expect to see when passing an "air dancer" that many businesses use to advertise and grab your attention. You know, those noodle things filled with air that do a weird "dance." I actually find them funny, for whatever reason. Although I did laugh when I saw this guy doing his own version of an air dance on the side of the road, it also creeped me out a bit. He lives amongst us. He's definitely not right in the head. I really do wonder, in a situation like this, does the man truly believe he is connected to a blower being forced into contortions by the blower and the outside conditions? More importantly, I wonder how someone becomes this way.

*shrug* I've watched people dance with the air dancers before. I glance at them and go on with whatever I'm doing. They're just having fun.

This guy was not just having fun. He was clearly not right in the head and perhaps even high on something. You can tell the difference between someone yucking it up and someone just being bat sh*t crazy. lol He was also not dancing with an air dancer. He was the air dancer.

@DaddyEvil Well, I certainly didn't get out of the truck to confront him or ask what he was up to. lol

As long as he doesn't do anyone any harm, he's OK.

@LindaOHio I am sure there were people in the presence of Jeffrey Dahmer who thought, "He's just a regular guy." Who knew he had heads in his freezer? lol

How do we know he would not be capable of it? Or how do we know that minutes prior to this he just finished closing the hole where he buried the body?

I was going to suggest 'ask him' but maybe not.

@porwest I give them a wide berth too. I don't have skills to help them so best to avoid any problems.

@JudyEv Besides. I have enough problems of my own. Why invite the problems of others? lol

Usually when I see a potentially crazy person, I tend to avoid them. lol

Many need to be taken off to the funny farm or maybe they escaped from there. Maybe a jilted lover...
