After the Party

Yesterday we were at a party.
The hostess really knows her way around the kitchen. She used to own/run a catering business with her sister. I enjoyed the meal, but skipped seconds because the dessert table was alot larger then it usually is.
I know that I cannot duplicate any of her dishes from the main course-it was Philippine cuisine, but I thought maybe there might be something on the dessert table that I could make at home.
The majority of the goodies on the dessert table were also Philippine types of foods. But there was a chocolate cookies that I enjoyed.
I spoke with the hostess' sister, from Toronto, who made the cookies. She told me that they are called chocolate crinkle cookies. They are much like a brownie in my mind, with a coffee flavour.
I did manage to get a few of the ingredients from her and today I did a search and found a recipe that I may attempt. Have you ever duplicated anything delicious after a party too?

They do look delicious….hope it goes well for you.
I have tried to make a few things over the years …some turned out tasting the same ….others, well, not so much.

@LadyDuck The sun is just rising here, but there isn't a cloud in the sky and it looks like it will be a beautiful day. I believe that they are calling for temperatures in the mid to upper 20's for us. I am doing laundry and will put the vacuum out to clean at some point today.
Wednesday they are calling for a cool front to come through here.

They were so yummy.
We have only been going to parties since Grandpa started taking the girls to the playgroup and became friends with some of the parents that also go.
Some stop going for the summer months, but were at the party yesterday, and it was so great to see them again.
Only 1 more year of this togetherness and then the children will all start off to school and the parents will not see each other much.

Chocolate crinkles. They look awfully good. I love desserts. Yes, I have tried to duplicate recipes. Sometimes it turned out well and other times it didn't. I would love to take a cooking course and learn how to make flaky desserts.
I hope the recipe comes out well.

I am always interested in duplicating recipes from restaurants...and you can usually find those online. I can't cook or bake anymore; but I'm always interested in food!!!

That's a good question Maybe, but not in recent years. Sometimes I see things online though that remind me of what I've had in the past so I will make it
