Back to Reality

Tomorrow I have to return to work, back to reality as it would seem. I have enjoyed a little over a week off, my last day at work was the 21st of August. Between the long weekend and a paid personal day off and weekends, I managed to max out this second week of vacay. Tomorrow is back to schedule. College and university classes resume tomorrow. The grade and high school bells will be ringing on Wednesday. They will have a PD day tomorrow. Are you enjoying time off and heading back to reality or are you already there? ~Photo is mine

I pray for the safety of yourself, your colleagues and the students and admin staff.

@Juliaacv Yeah it is a very real fear for us. Shouldn't be but it is.

@NJChicaa I agree, but if you were a parent, and you know what happens in schools, how would you have your children educated? I would think that having the students learn from zoom has to be safer, for both them as well as the countless staff that are in a school building on any given weekday. Schools seem open targets and that is so wrong.

Nothing changes too much here. We have a school parking area opposite but unless we're up to see the kids arriving and leaving we don't hear them at all.

Next year the twins will start to junior kindergarten, which is full time here. Grandpa will have alot more time on his hands then.

@Juliaacv Of course! I hadn't thought about that. Next thing, he'll need to be brushing up on his maths to help them with their homework.

Too bad it all has to come to an end. I remember when I was young, every August I would feel the anxiety begin. I was so shy. School was hard.

Did you work this hard before retirement?

@Juliaacv I am not old enough to officially retire yet. I do have a few less things since hubby retired. I used to do all the mowing too.

I am enjoying the time off from working behind the computer desk for one day due to an old wire needed to be replaced last night.

I hope that you enjoy your downtime before the repair is completed and you are back hard at work again.

@Juliaacv I did enjoy my downtime while the old wire that connects with the computer was replaced.

I am sorry you have to go back to work. I am sure you loved this short break. I think that schools reopen next Monday here.

There is a small part of me that is glad to go back. My seasonal allergies are really bad this year, and my skin is terribly itchy. From my scalp to my back and arms, keeping busy will help this.

@Juliaacv - It's horrible when your skin is itchy. My husband has this problem, I apply a cream twice a day, but often he is itchy.

@LadyDuck The backs of my elbows and that part of my arm down to my wrist are the worst. When I lie them on the armrests of a chair they hurt or even if they are in my lap, if they are touching my clothing, they pain me. But this is short lived, even if it doesn't seem as though. Some live with this all of the time, and I remind myself not to worry or concern myself too badly.

Well seeing as how I'm "retired" I don't really take "vacation" but I take "trips" which are like work for me and then I have to rest when I'm home.
