A Taste of Autumn

Last night a cool front came through.
We got a bit of rain, and it is still spotty on and off this morning. The cold front isn't a strong one, but the high for the day will be much cooler than yesterday's was. Our high today is just below 20C.
We have a wedding to attend on Saturday. It is at an outdoor venue. I may be going shopping to find something warmer to wear as my dresses are all short sleeved.
I picked up some freshly made cream of broccoli soup yesterday. It is in the refrigerator currently, and I will warm up some for my lunch today. Yum, it is getting to be soup weather-one of my favorite parts of autumn. My friend, @LadyDuck gave me a link for a recipe that she recently made.

I like very simple recipes, I adjust the ingredients according to our tastes, but I like to have a basic recipe to follow.

Yes, thank you so much.
It is nice to have options for a different flavour of soup to try.
I hope that we have nice weather on Saturday, but I believe that I will go out and try to find a warm shawl to be able to put on just in case.
I might treat myself to a new pair of pumps to keep my feet warm.

@LadyDuck I am sorry that your right foot was bothering you.
I prefer leather for warmth.
I feel like a shawl will be necessary, the rash on my arms is growing and quite visible and I do not want to call any attention to it. I feel like Wednesday and Thursday may have been the worst for it, and I am waiting for it to settle down. I remember there was a year about a 12 years ago that my allergies and rash were this bad, every year differs.

@Juliaacv - It's a good idea to bring a shawl with you. It's good to be ready to stay warm in case of bad weather. Good shoes are important. I wore flat shoes for two months when I was packing for our move and I developed plantar fasciitis in my right food.

We have a few warm days here this week before the temperatures drop by the weekend. Our nights are really chilly though.
Yup, soup weather is quickly coming. Your cream of broccoli soup sounds delicious. I get a container of broccoli cheddar soup at Sams Club and it's delicious. I know it's probably easy enough to make but this is more convenient

It was good soup, although they used a vegetable broth base, whereas I prefer a chicken broth base.
It made me realize that my own way is better.
I also add a potato cubed up so that the meal sticks to you longer, like I said, personal preference.
The recipe from Anna appears that easy enough, I am excited to be able to try it, but the squash is not in season here just yet, but it won't be long.

Summer seems to be winding down in your area. I love autumn too; it’s the perfect shift from summer’s warmth to the crisp, cool breezes of fall. The mild weather feels so refreshing and pleasant. Unfortunately, where I live, we only have hot and wet seasons. That’s why I really enjoyed experiencing New York’s weather—it was much more bearable than spring or winter.

The breezes are not quite crisp here as of yet, more just cool and we are all adjusting.
It is my favorite time of the year, but we need to be ready to readjust our plans should there be rain in the forecast because autumn rains can be cold and longer than the summer ones.

@snowy22315 I just used a little bit of cheese. I usually eat a slice of marble cheese in the afternoon, it is nice to have on my afternoon break with an apple.

I just checked the predictions for this coming week and we have a cool front coming through with storms incoming. That's normal for this time of year. The highs then will be in the low-70s/around 21C. Very comfortable weather for me. Pretty will also be dressing like it's cold. 
Pretty walked up to the expensive grocery store and bought a package of stew meat. I've cut up a sweet onion, grated several carrots, a large bulb of garlic and chopped up several stalks of celery for it. She should put it together today in the crockpot.

@Juliaacv When Pretty actually offers to make food I'll eat, too, you can bet I'll be ready for some. (She usually cooks things like rice or quinoa that I can't/won't eat.)

I hope so too, but I will go out and try to find a shawl and a new pair of leather pumps so that I can stay warm.
We had rain for a bit this morning, but right now it is sunny and nice looking out.
I will go out after a while to go and pick up our pizza-its pizza night here on Thursdays.
