It Really Bothered Me

Last month, the man that cuts my grass, came by and cut it. Well, he began to tell me his wife was going to have surgery the next day, on her legs. Seemed she had fluid on them and could hardly walk. Well, I have a problem with my left foot swelling, but not really bad. I was up at midnight worried about her. Thinking it must have been something that could have been done before it got to the surgery stage. I went to the doctor last week it bothered me so bad. Her husband said she could barely walk, and in so much pain.

Was it cellulitis? I hope your doctor helped you with your medical problem.

That would be very worrying. Some people do put off seeking help for way too long.

That really shows how compassionate and empathetic you are—you carried her burden in your own heart, even losing sleep over her condition. It’s natural to worry, especially when we hear of someone else’s suffering and start comparing it to our own experiences. Sometimes, though, medical issues can progress silently, and by the time symptoms are severe, surgery may be the only option left. It’s good that you went to the doctor for your own swelling—that was a wise step. Taking care of yourself is just as important as caring for others. Hopefully, your grass cutter’s wife finds relief after her surgery, and you can also find peace of mind knowing you’re monitoring your own health early on. Sometimes, concern for others becomes the nudge we need to care for ourselves, too.

Hopefully, your doctor told you something that eased your mind. My dad’s doctor mentioned compression socks to him, but everybody’s situation is different.

Thank you, I have some, need to wear them than I do. I'll start wearing them more since my friend had surgery.

That is one thing that I thankfully have NOT suffered from. They check my ankles every time I go to the doctor, too.
