A man whose named was not disclosed was rescued by deputies of Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) when the man was located in the 1,500 acre marshland park known as Princess Place Preserve last Thursday evening August 28 when the water in the marshland reached up to the his ankles.
The FCSO deputies answered the emergency call from the man in trouble since he used a cell phone to communicate with them and due to the man having GPS coordinates to find him.
The deputies had to use flashlights since there was a thunderstorm in the area and use of drones were delayed.
The deputies with the use of an agency drone were able to rescue the man in the marsh and take him to a safe places with no serious injuries on him.

That would be scary. Was this in Florida? Swamps and marshes would be scary to get lost in.

I wonder if there was quicksand there? I remember when I was a kid, up in Northern Minnesota. We were all out hiking in a very remote area. The ground looked fine to me but the leader told us we must stay on the trail and never ever get off it cause of quicksand in the bogs.

Good advice to stay on a trail due to the quicksand factor.

The guy was fortunate to be rescued, as it sounds as if he was fully lost, and in a lot of trouble there.

The rescued man is likely to be lectured by the police not to venture in swamps anymore.
