Teresa Sanchez who is a resident of Los Angeles California came home for her work on Tuesday August 5 when she saw a 20 foot python on top of the large dumpster inside the garage. Since the police do not engage in removing pythons from garages, another neighbor contacted Joesph Hart who is employed by SoCal Reptile Hunter to remove the python from the garage and take the animal to be examined by a veterinarian and rehabilitated. The woman who contacted Joesph believes that the snake was abandoned by its owner. Link is upi.com/2481754580060 via @upi

Abandoned? How horrible. Especially for a big guy like this. People sure are irresponsible nowadays.

@Deepizzaguy .......Abandoning any animal is mean. They should work with their local vet.

Finding a python in my garage would no doubt send me into orbit, George! I am glad to hear it was safely removed.

@Deepizzaguy Years ago, a snake came down my friend's chimney into her living room. She nearly had heart failure, I think--the damper was shut but evidently the snake got around it and decided to come inside. It was in Texas, they only used the fireplace if it got very, very cold.

If I had a garage, that is not something that I would want to find in it!

Hopefully the snake will have a new home now and be well looked after.

These owners are so irresponsible. You don't release a 20-foot python! It could easily get a small dog or even a small child.

You are right that the former owners of the snake are irresponsible.

A snake that large is a very scary site, and if it curled around your leg, you might be in real trouble, so it was good it was removed, and if the owner can be found, the full force of the law should be thrown at him, hard.

I am in agreement with you about the full weight of the law be placed on the former owner of the snake for abandonment.
