My Husband Thinks I Have A Lot Of Clothes

Say what?
He's seen his mother's closet and he thinks all women have too many clothes.
I have maybe 30 total tops and 7 pair of pants.
I have 9 pair of shoes.
But hubby only has 5 total shirts and 2 pair of pants. So naturally he thinks that's "normal" and anything more than that is too much.
Nonetheless I'm going to go through my closet this morning to see if I can pare some stuff down and donate some items.

When my wife met me she was amazed at how many pair of underwear and socks I had. "Why in the world would you have this much?" I told her, I didn't like doing laundry and thus... lol
I still keep a lot of socks and underwear. I have quite a few pair of shorts, pants and shirts too. But a lot of that is because I keep everything until it wears out. I have shirts that are literally over 10 years old, and some may be older.

I just cleaned out a few more items from my closet for donation and I counted. I have 37 tops and 7 pair of pants and 7 dresses.

@LooeyVille My wife has way more than that. Boxes and totes full, things on hangers, a full chest dresser overflowing...
The picture is only part of the right side. I must have a million dollars in there, and not a single item of clothing in this closet belongs to me. lol

Maybe he has gone to this extreme because of his mother having so much. I think you sound like you are okay.

If you count T shirts as tops, I have way more than that. Actual blouses, not sure of the count..Tops several

I have alot of clothing.
I needed it when I worked in the office, and those clothing items still hang in my closet, lovely dress slacks, blouses, dress cardigans as well as casual office attire, and then the new office attire that I have had to accumulate since march 2020. Things that get worn regularly wear out, and are tossed out or demoted to dusting rags, but I have a very full closet, as does my husband and we prefer to have options when we get ready to get dressed.
We also have alot of shoes and coats, again, options and preferences.
The less often I have to launder clothing the better it is and the longer they last.

I have more clothes than that! I'd have to actually count but I have around 10 or 12 pair of pants and around 20 or more shirts. I don't wear a lot of them anymore. I have a dozen pairs of shoes...
