Got very chilly last night. It was about 65 in the room when I woke up and this was with windows closed. I was reading again last night we will have a snowy and cold winter..and we will if these lows are any indication of what's coming. Do you believe this winter will be cold and snowy?

If it is, I’m ready for it. My electric bill will finally be low, and that’s a huge thing. I also got this electric shrug with hood for free so I can go longer without turning the heat on. Honestly, the only reason I usually turn on the heat is for the dog. And my arthritis if it gets really bad.

I took a hot bath last night and wire fuzzy PJ's to bed. Still feels cool in here. BTW, did you watch Monday night football? It was quite a game

@snowy22315 Yes, I did! And, I was glad the team with the better behaved quarterback won. I’ve heard so much about Caleb Williams’ bad attitude. Not that I totally blame him. His coach situation didn’t start out well.

That electric shrug sounds so cozy and perfect for you to snuggle when the cold arrives. Maybe Sadie can cuddle with you?

I am so tired of excessive heat. Our forecast is more hot days starting Thursday for about two weeks with no rain. We have had one five minute rain in like three weeks, things are very dry and many counties have fire warnings

No excessive heat here. I think I'd move if that was going on where I lived this time of the year It's been fairly dry here, as of late. You'll here no complaints from me

@snowy22315 Starting Thursday, we get an entire week of heat and humidity and supposedly still no rain. So summer is roaring back...ugh. I am tired of the AC.

They said the same last year and we had no snow at all, it was not even too cold. I do not know what to expect this winter.

One never knows..but of this early cooler than average weather, I am tending to believe the cold and snowy forecast. Once I see the squirrels foraging like mad, I will really think it is true. I don't think it is going to be an acorn year so I may have to help them out alittle bit. One time I did put some pistachios out for the squirrels though and it took them forever to eat them. I guess they didn't care for them, but they were the only nuts I had at the time.

@snowy22315 - There are no squirrels here, but I am waiting for the chestnuts. If it's really hard to remove the inner skin, the winter can be very cold.

@snowy22315 I don't know how true it is but if the squirrels tails are big and bushy the winter is going to be harsh.

We're getting down into the mid-50s overnight right now which is normal for the first part of September here. The Farmers' Almanac does say Missouri and other Central states will have a very cold and snowy winter this 2025/2026 season, though.

It isn't just that, they tend to say that alot at least for this area..but I have read it other places online..with more reputable sources.

@snowy22315 I like the Farmers' Almanac. It's often right on the money with predictions here.

I've also heard that we're going to have a cold and snowy winter. Cold I can deal with but I hope we don't get bombarded with snow (especially blizzards). I'm going to stock up my pantry just in case.

@Marilynda1225 Tell me about it. It was horrible around here. Naturally when the power was out they were the coldest temps all winter. The cat was uncharacteristically burrowed beside me in the blankets.

@snowy22315 that's one of the worst things when it's freezing and the power goes out. Hopefully we won't experience any outages this winter.

My friend in KY tells me this will be a mild winter...she has read all her signs and such and believes it will be a Mild Winter. IMO with temps so low in Aug..they can only get lower as time goes on. As long as we have no hurricanes and no Snow...Temperatures I can handle.

I read 3x online it will be a harsh winter. it is due to different factors. However, I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. I mean there is only so much they can predict months in advance.

One thing I read said mild; and another one said cold and s**wy. I hope the mild one is correct; BUT I think it's going to be very cold and very s**wy.
