This morning my son and the girls came by to pick me up.
We headed out of town to the Apple Land Station. It began as an apple orchard, but they have so much more, to make it a great day to spend together as a family.
As you can see, from the picture that I took near the entrance, both of the girls were over the moon excited. They enjoyed playing on the swings, and the playground equipment, the huge built in trampolines, the sandhill and the petting zoo.
We took the miniature train out to the orchard. I brought home a 20 pound bag of Corlandt and half of the bag was Golden Delicious apples. Our son's had McIntosh and Corlandt apples.
I sent him to the truck as I spied a tent with some fall mums and pumpkins in it. I held each of the girl's hands and asked them each to pick out a pumpkin. Now they have their very first pumpkin of the season, and we all have lots of fresh apples.

I'm glad you all had a good time today!
That many apples would last us all winter!

I eat one every day 5 days a week, and my husband is more likely to eat them every day of the week.
Bruised apples do not last as long, and the girls were dropping them into the bags, they have to be bruised, its just a matter of time before they show that.

@DaddyEvil I was surprised when I dug out all of the apples to wash.
There were several of the Golden Delicious apples with bruises, but none on the Corlandts.
I may have to use those up in a few days so that I don't lose the entire apple.
I can bake up a little apple crisp for us with them.

@Juliaacv Yeah, you'll have rotten apples in those bags if you aren't careful.

Just now
The girls were both so excited to go to the orchard.
Harper, who loves to sleep late, was actually up early and got ready early.
I have more of the Golden Delicious apples than the Corlandt apples, but the delicious ones are much smaller in size.

@JudyEv No, we really saw a difference in this past year or so, Willow's hair has darkened, much like her parents is, and Harper has that fair fly away blonde hair still. Harper's hair tangles when she sleeps, and Grandpa has got her to the point that she will brush it out, although it takes a while, Willow has her hair brushed and is dressed much before her Sissy is.

What a priceless picture of the girls. I'm so happy that they had such a good time. What will you do with the apples?

We have a similar place with things for families to enjoy, pumpkins and gourds and so many apples, hot or cold apple cider, apple donuts…daughter and I usually go the last week of September. We hope to go again this year, son said he wants us to go and I will have a friend of his come over and they can hang out while we are gone. Daughter loves fall as much as I do, we always enjoy this.

Inside the store they have the apple cider and baked goods. We did not go inside, we spent the hours that we were there all outside. I like apple cider but I prefer it from the harvest during in October as opposed to September. Next month, when we go to out for fresh squash I should be able to find some apple cider.
