A Good Day

This morning, I felt good enough to go to church, and was really glad I went. A little ten year old girl got up to sing a song in front of the church, and she wanted to share everything she was thankful for. A 14 year old got up and said a few words about his mission trip to Vietnam this summer, and several woman shared how the prison ministries have gone. They feel they are getting as much out of showing care and concern for the inmates, as the inmates are getting from them. It was refreshing to hear about. Of course, I enjoyed on hearing the sermon on trying to hide from God as well.
Once a month, everyone brings a dish, and they have a potluck lunch after church. Today was that day. I met some new people, and that was lovely. And I tell you, a church potluck is good food, my friend. Everyone brings their best dish, and rarely is there a bad one. I did see one dish hardly anyone had touched, so I put a little on my plate. I didn’t want that person to feel badly about no one wanting his/her food.
I’m home now, and I’ve had my fill of activity. I used all my energy. How was your day?

@AmbiePam I don't like going to church by myself. I feel conspicous. There is a lady I know here though who would probably go with me. Although the church we would go to was checking Covid vaccine cards before and she didn't have one since she doesn't go to the doctor, but I doubt they are checking for that now.

@snowy22315 Well, I still remember several people from when I went regularly, and my cousin (she attend with her husband and kids) was the first one to greet me. I sat with my stepmom and dad, so I was pretty comfortable.
Normally, I am with you. A few years ago I attended two brand new churches (to me), and I went with a friend. She didn’t want to go by herself either. There is no way I could have gone alone.
Wow, vaccine cards seems extreme. Of course, people were really scared back then.

That sounds like a wonderful way to start the day and the week really.
You did something so kind to take a helping from that particular dish, I am sure that you made someone feel good.
Our churches do not do potlucks, but they sound like fun.
We do them at work when we work in the office, and actually I am organizing the one for the day that we go in October.
We have several different nationalities present on our team, and I am sure that we will have a great selection of cuisines to choose from-I love that part best of all.
My day has been good.
I got over heated preparing brunch and had to lie down for a while, and now I am just moving slowly.
We are watching the Lions game together....darned how how high will this score go I wonder.

He will do the mashed potatoes that I planned for supper as well as steam the corn.

It is so good you are feeling better after your inability to stand and walk. I had hoped you were doing better. I had a bit of a fever and a headache and slept most of today.

It was a very quiet day here... I couldn't fall asleep until around 2 pm and then slept until after 7 pm.
We have doctor appointment Monday and Tuesday this week. I'm not looking forward to those!

My regular doctor wants an ultrasound on my thyroid since I haven't been to the Endocrinologist this year. (Our car was down when my appointment came up in February but I didn't like the Endo I had, anyway.) The appointment with the new Endo doesn't happen until the end of November and my doctor doesn't want to wait that long.
Pretty also has a blood draw tomorrow she isn't looking forward to.
