One More Season Is Off the Books

So, it has been written. Our last camp of the season is officially over and now we will have to make preparations to get the camper winterized, as well as go through the inside and take out all the "wet" stuff so nothing freezes that we store like cleaners and shower stuff, hand soaps and the like. Everything turned out great, although we did run into one hiccup. Not with our camper but with the one my sister and brother-in-law rented. They basically blew a master fuse and lost all power to their camper. But we were able to determine what the problem was and fix it. It's always a bit bittersweet to "shut her down," but it is what it is. We're already making plans for next year.

Just think, if ya were using it in the southwest you probably wouldn't have a lot of issues with freezing cold. Mostly it only get down to maybe 19f in the wee hours of the morn in January or so and it only lasts a couple hours at most, doesn't it get way colder where you are and for longer stretches of time?

That's what many ancient native americans did, they were really smart about where to be and when to move.

Well, the ULTIMATE plan is to become snowbirds and spend half the year during the winter in Florida. So, the day may be afoot. Just a matter of time.

If I could camp all year round, I would definitely be onboard with that. Our camper is an "extended season" camper which just means we can start earlier and end later if we want to. But I do enjoy the time outside more than the time inside, and so... It is what it is.

@porwest with the heating we have we can continue until December but it’s too cold outside then for my Mom and I am usually busy with work and family arrangements for Christmas so we close up after October half term. Having said that I would happily live there.

Planning is one of the best thing in life. I really love how you guys do camping. You really have a nice camper van.

Many would call it glamping. lol. But we always have a good time and it's nice to have a change of scenery while still enjoying some of our own creature comforts.

I imagine that eventually you can move to a state where you can camp all year round.

Our intention is to eventually spend our winters in Florida as snowbirds. Living in our camper during those months is my plan so long as my wife is happy with that. I bet she would be. All I'd have to say is, "We'll be in Florida." 'Nuff said. lol

We don't really need to do that here, not to the same extent anyway. Nothing is likely to freeze. Some people go north following the sun and use their van virtually all year round.

People do that here, although they go South. I wish I didn't have to do it.

That's the goal eventually. Well, at least to become snowbirds and live there during the winter.

We did 5 this year. I'd like to add at least one more to next season's adventures. We'll see.
