There are some really good young people out there.

Going in the store today, the cart that I grabbed was one of the only ones left. And, it had a super wobbly wheel, so I didn't even try to use it, I went to find either a cart or a worker to find a cart for me. Before I took a few steps, a young man, not a worker, came up and said, you sit on that bench, I will find you a cart, ma'am. I think my mouth fell open but I stood there and didn't even have a chance to sit on the bench, he appeared with a cart. I thanked him as well as I could, it was much appreciated. Got my items fairly quickly, a few were heavy--milk, juice for son, etc. I bagged them in the bags I take to stores so the plastic bags weren't necessary. Headed for the door, got outside to wheel the cart to the car. A young girl got out of a car, she was maybe about 10 years old, a cute little thing...and said, I would love to help you if you need help. She followed me a few lengths to my car while her mom watched from the walkway, and put my items in the back of the car. She said ''I will take the cart back for you!'' and I told her how much I appreciated her help. She said, I like to help people. My grandma told me it was what young people need to do, and now I like to help. There are many good kids out there, and I am so happy to see this. In the current state of the world, I try to celebrate every kindness. Have you had such an experience? It's truly uplifting! PS, is anyone having any picture trouble again, or is it just me? Edit to say, whatever problem my picture had, I finally just removed it and reloaded it the same way, and it posted.

That is a sweet story. I had a group of teens jump my car once. That was nice

So many people think all young people are...not so good, nor thoughtful. But many are, and I love it when things like this happen! Thanks, Snowy.

It depends on the environment, if it's full of good people, you'll definitely meet people who are truly sincere in helping.

It seems I have been fortunate in having people appear sometimes to lend a hand, in more than one way or another.

That is so cool! I love hearing things like that. I guess I haven’t seen that lately. The young people in my apartment complex are like feral animals because their parents don’t care. Oh, wait. There was one guy, about 20, in line at Dollar General, and I hadn’t gotten a cart. He saw me struggling, and he let me cut him in line. I thought that was very nice because his hands were full too.

I always try to let people up if I can, when they just have one item or so and I have a lot. I am glad he helped you out! In my little area, some people of course have pets. I have never had an issue with people not cleaning up after their pets, but they are good to keep the pets in their own area, and pick it up quickly. I had a knock on the door the other day, a young man visiting his mom up the street. His little dog got away from him and I guess made a deposit in my yard. He wanted to tell me that he cleaned it up, and ask if he could use my garden hose (it was on the porch, I watered the garden the night before) to be sure it was all good. I've never had that happen that anyone, anywhere that I have ever lived, was so determined to leave no trace of a dogs leavings, but hey...I was very appreciative.

I deleted my picture and reloaded it the same size, same way...and it's on the post now. I love knowing there are kids out there more than willing to lend a hand to someone.

I love so much those stories. There are still many very good young people around. I had one helping me to load my grocery into the car last week. He understood that it was too hard for my husband.

@MarieCoyle - There are many good young people, more than we can imagine. Unfortunately it's always the bad guys who make the news.

@LadyDuck Yes, we always hear about the bad, but rarely the good.

I am a firm believer that we really need to celebrate the good stuff, especially with our youth. I am glad someone saw your need and helped you, Anna.

Some kids are taught to help others, and some are not. Unfortunately, it's like every other negative thing, a person usually just hears about the bad experiences, and not the good ones.

That was 2 really nice interactions that you had. Both of those young people are being raised right. It kills me when I put a quarter into the handlebar to take the cart and within a few minutes it is wobbling and the cart corral is outside and I am inside. I haven't posted today, so cannot comment on the photo issue you mentioned, but if there is, I hope that it is reported to the admin so that there isn't another nasty post regarding it. Nobody wants that.

Oh, the ALDI has those carts. I never have any issues with them, they really keep their carts clean and well maintained. That's a bummer. The admin replied to me in a very timely manner. I had sized the picture correctly, and couldn't figure out just what I did wrong. I finally deleted the picture and then reloaded it the very same way, same size, etc. and it posted just fine. I have no idea what the problem was, but it fixed itself.

My picture wasn't too big, but I must have messed up somehow. I deleted it and reloaded it and it was fine. So it must have been something on my end. Thanks, Eva.

You are right, and the age doesn't really matter. What matters is when people are kind and helpful.

How nice of that man and the little girl to help you. I know when people offer to help me it just makes you feel good knowing there are still good kind people still in this world.
